What's being overlooked here is AV.

Tanev plays the right side. Girardi plays the right side. AV sat Tanev in Vancouver. AV has a long-standing record of hating skilled defenders. AV has a long-standing record of adoring WURRIARS like Girardi. Tanev would just rot on the 2nd pair while Girardi ***** all over the ice.

It's a total waste of a trade for the Rangers.

I think you're overthinking it. Tanev was a younger/incomplete version of himself when AV was coaching the Canucks. AV is much smarter than you give him credit for.

Buch has a lot of upside, but this Vancouver fan says never in a million years. Our D is already suspect, Tanev is young, and he likes it here.

First off, What?

Secondly, while he's established, remember Gudbrandson is still in his early 20's and could be apart of this team for a long time.

And lastly, trading for a player like Eriksson should only help the development of younger player. Stripping it down and tanking isn't the way to do it, it was before because players as UFA's would go where they want, but now with the cap its about development more than anything.

Huh? Trading a rookie in McCann for an established player isn't rebuilding. While younger, he is what he is.

Keeping high priced depth; Burrows, Dorsett, Sbisa.

Signing top line UFA's; Eriksson. Vancouver signed one of the top UFA's, they didn't trade for him.

Look at our centers, Sutter in his prime signed long term, Horvat is the future captain, Cassels, Granlund, Gaunce as far as youth goes who look like NHLers, and more guys in the pipeline that have time to show what they can do. Not only that McCann wouldn't have a chance at a top 6 center spot for atleast 3 years had we kept him.

McCann may end up better than them but not for awhile. And Gudbranson is 23 and could grow into a better player for our team. (hell he already is, and McCann isn't a sure thing by any stretch, and I liked him alot) When your defense is the way ours is depth wise in terms of youth and roster wise, it makes complete sense whether you think we are/should be rebuilding or not.

And again plz explain how I'm wrong in saying signing Eriksson is nothing but positive.

Burrows is a leader that helps the development of young players, the contract was signed awhile ago and its almost over. And realistically I highly doubt we would be able to replace the 4 Million he makes with a top 6 forward making the same anyways, so no issue here.

While I didn't like the contract same goes for Dorsett, he's a leader for the young guys, its not always about having the most talented 12 forward, you need a team and guys that can fill roles. With some of the big teams we have to go against in the West, you can't have the possibility of your young players getting pushed around and not be able to do anything about it. That's not going to help the development of young players.

Burrows and Dorsett supplement the young players who are trying to grow into the important roles. For the development of our young players I don't see the negative. (since u brought up rebuilding initially)

And I agree Sbisa is overpaid I didnt like giving away Garrison so Sbisa would have a chance at our top 4 in the first place, and I said as much the day the deals we're made, so I'll agree on that one.

He gives Dan Girardi the most minutes on the team. How smart could he be?

Plus, he literally just did what I described to Keith Yandle this past season, who isn't young at all.
