NYR fan here. That's a pretty underwhelming offer for EP. Lundqvist isn't the RD they need. They have 2 PP units and he wouldn't fit on either because Hughes and OEL will get those spots. Kravtsov won't be around until after his KHL season/playoffs end, and even then it's questionable. Chytil is the only piece that would important right now and he's nowhere near enough.

I don't think most fans would propose a 20yo 2nd overall pick, a bluechip prospect & a 28yo who paced for 70pt average pace over the past 3 seasons. I bet most Rangers fans wouldn't do that trade

Strome is a UFA and not needed so the value is very little to none. That's what you should have said. Your post looks silly, especially when Miller has been traded just as made times. I'm not even touching the first part on Chytil. I like Miller, but Rangers can't make that trade and then give Miller a contract with a raise after next season. It doesn't work for either team.

To me this solves both teams immediate problems........(aka Schneider, 2022-1st and Othmann for Pettersson)

This gives NYR's a #1 Center past Zijanejad, and somewhat completes them

for

Vancouver fill in their most pressing need of a big stay at home RHD, and clears cap, and Othmann can fill in for Miller who slides over to center.............and the 1st helps them in finding another center prospect

Trouba is playing amazing again and is signed long term. Fox is one of the best players in the NHL and that’s already 2 spots on the RD side. For the 3rd pairing, I think the Rangers need more of a Schneider in that spot instead of a Lundqvist.

Chytil needs to play on the top 2 lines to develop and we already have Zibby and Strome there.

Kravtsov is a wild card that can pay huge dividends. He has top 2 lines potential and has been regarded as a top 30 prospect for years now.

Rangers would then trade Strome to a contender.

Zibby and Pettersson would be an amazing 1-2 punch.

If Vancouver decided to move on from EP for some unknown reason... I think it starts here as a base. Other ancillary pieces could be involved. I don’t anticipate EP being moved though so the point is moot.

Vancouver gets the 1st+ they need in moving Miller and gets to see what they'd have in Kravtsov with Podkolzin.

Not going to pretend I know how Rangers fans view Miller but statistically his games improved the last few years.

If I’m the rangers, I try to make a deal for Horvat, even if they have to overpay a little.
