Confirmed Trade: [NYR/VAN] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, 2025 1st round pick (top 13 protected)

Canucks should have said ZERO protection or no if they were going to do this ass cheeks trade.

They didn’t have to trade him ffs.

It turns into 2026 unprotected first rounder next year. Id rather have that in a deeper draft.

Their core is aging even further

Their core ages next season will be

Panarin 34
Trochek 32
Miller 32
Zib 32
Kreider 34

They could all fall off a cliff.

Canucks not retaining any of Miller’s salary is a plus for Vancouver, all of it’s going to New York.

I can imagine that locker room is breathing a sigh of relief, Miller can bully and yell at someone in the Rangers locker room.

This had to happen, his constant bullshit year in and year out about his attitude, low trade value and him half assing it.

Sick of his shit, good in the playoffs last year but comes into this year all putrid ass.

Miller is on the wrong side of 30 while Pettersson is still in his mid 20’s.
Yup. The return isn’t of any concern here. There were bigger issues at hand that are now hopefully solved.

The protection part is terrible but overall, I think just moving on from Miller and getting Chytil and 1st is good for Nucks given situation

Mancini is still young so who knows could be good for Nucks longterm

I wonder if there is a chance that the Rangers give up the pick this year anyways.

In a hypothetical scenario where things are bad enough for the Rangers to finish with anything better than 13th overall, what direction do they go in next season? Do they really want to hand the Canucks an unprotected pick in 2026 instead of say 12th overall?

Chytil will be a star for Vancouver. People don’t realize how good he is. Chytil and Miller have the same points per 60 5v5 over the past three years. You guys got a player.
FC is a quality player that has improved significantly over the years.

The big issue is his health and he could be one more concussion away from exiting the League.

Not hugely surprised. I’m not sure what people expected Vancouver to land with Miller. Great player when he’s on but he’s in the middle of a down year, is on a big contract if this is the level he’s going to play at, and apparently can’t get along with people.

He's got one more 5v5 point than Chytil so far this season…

Canucks fans might hate the return now—but getting out of JT Miller and his toxic waste in the locker room was an absolute must. The facts when fully revealed will prove it was a necessity.

They should be happy to get a 1st that they can flip—and happy that it didn’t take any retention to get it done. They can fully walk away from the Miller situation.

Good luck miller , you carried us when we needed it. Hope chytil stays healthy for us and we flip their first to the pens and pettersson is the return. Then that 1st lights up the rags for years . Lol

$8 Million/year long-term for a guy who recently had a 100 point season is a great deal, and I don't think it's a sure-bet that Miller will fall apart just because he's 31. So many guys are still playing quite well into their 30s..

I think Canucks fans are in hard cope mode with such a staggering loss. Can they at least keep Boeser?

Yah now were stuck with an 11.6 million dollar soft 60 point player who doesn't show up when it matters....so much better off.

Geez u must be a ton of fun at parties...........it's not all doom and gloom. Give Pete 20 games here to see how he does without Miller and then have some judgements please........

I'm very pleased with this trade. Not sure what we are gonna do with our cap space and the assets we acquired but u know it will be put to work........let's see where.

He parlayed Bo into a top 4 RHD - something we were in desperate need of. Let's see what they choose to do this time. If it were me I'd want a Top 4 LHD then a 2/3C if you can find one althou that can wait to the offseason......a Top 4 LHD is our biggest need atm IMO.
