Or the Rangers could keep their 1st and give up a 3rd and maybe a 5th for Kessel....

Even with 50% retained he won't get a 1st
So you don't think Kessel is worth moving up ~ 10 to 12 spots? Or do you think the Coyotes just want more draft picks?
So if the Coyotes offer up their 2nd and the Rangers win the cup, that's 1 or 2 spots. But I guess losing 2 draft picks isn't as dire as moving back a few spots.

The Rangers are having a great year and have tons of things going for them. I would be shocked if they don't get one of Hertl, Giroux, Kessel or mystery star center x for some combination of Schneider or another d, a first and Strome. Long story short I think, they get Hertl for a package that includes Strome or another regular.

Not sure if Nill is even going to sell/get assets at the deadline but Pavelski has mostly been a RW’er next to Hintz but of course can play C as well. Has also been great with youngsters Hintz and Robertson.

What would the Rangers be open to move for Pavelski at 50%?

I suspect Kessel will basically choose his destination and the return will be two mid round picks. Like a second and a fourth or something like that. Arizona won’t have a ton of leverage. But they’ll get some value for him.

Rangers don’t need retention this season. But obviously Pavelski will have a ton of value. Not sure what the new Rangers front office thinks of first rounders but a team will definitely pay a first and a good prospect. Not sure which team though.

First+. He has been great. Not a long term solution, obviously. But you can't deny he brings valuable things to the team.

NyR should look to augment wjat they have with small adds.

Solid team tjat still gets owned too often by inferior teams only to be bailed out by Igor.

Kessel for a 3rd or R. Smith for a 2nd. Maybe both

We would not need retention for either or both.

Pavelski, if moved should get a 1st. NyR should hold that until closer to the draft and package for a long term solution at 2C

Deadline 3 moves. Full cap. Reinforced but Not all in.

1. RSmith for our 2nd (Radulov for a 3rd as a back up)
2. DeHaan for a 4th and a B- prospect
3. Larsson or Jarnkrok for what? A 3rd or B prospect?

Drury’s history with Blake, Sakic and Gorton would have me guess deals with L.A, Colorado and Montreal could be there on or before the 2022 draft.
Though I believe Chris and J.D. are friendly, I have a feeling that Davidson’s exit from N.Y. might have left a lasting bad taste in his mouth to have any dealings with the Dolan owned Rangers.

Why would the Rangers want a 2nd to lose their first? Kessel value is not a first. You think Kessel makes them a cup favorite lol. Come on. I dont see Kessel getting anywhere near a first even with retention.

Btw when the Rangers traded up for Miller 3 years ago the cost to move up 4 spots was a 2nd round pick. Moving up 10-12 spots would be a fairly large haul. Kessel again isn't worth that.
