Adding Chycrun and Miller doesn't make your team significantly better?

What are you smoking and where can I get some?

You are delusional if you think there is a significant improvement. Like I said they are good players but not at the price being knocked around... Most of these deals being knocked around on this board are ridiculous. The initial proposal was basically two firsts and a second for JT, come on. If the situation were reveresed you would give up two firsts and a second for Jt. I thought not. Be realistic not a homer.

You don't think adding a top line forward and a top pairing defenseman is significant improvement?

Who do you want? Wayne Gretzky and a time machine?

If Rangers added Miller and Chycrun, they would be on par with Tampa.

Canucks say no to the original deal.

Take a look at some of the deadline days in the past and that's all I'll say. Did you see what Anthony Mantha and Blake Coleman got? Exactly.

Chycrun would be a second or possibly third pair dman .. he is not supplanting Lindgren or their pet project K. Miller. Your going to give up three firsts and other assets for a second or third pair Dman?
With a +/- of -31!
Miller like I said is a solid player but not at the asking price or salary.. Not to mention you have to negotiate another deal after next year. The Rangers have a bunch of players coming off entry contracts. Kakko, Laf, KAM, also Strome, Hunt, Blais , and Georgiev . They currently have approx 6 mil in cap space. Do you trade for him and let him walk after giving up basically two firsts and a second. Does his miserable personality fit in the locker room also.

As a Ranger fan I give both proposals a hard no. The Rangers are just coming out of a major rebuild albeit ahead of schedule. Why trade the assets you accumulated for a short term fix, that does not significantly improve the team.

JT Miller we have been down that road already. He always came across as miserable during his time in NY. Miller and Horvat are good hockey players but not at the asking price. They are also both on contracts that expire after next year. For this year and next they are both in the 5+ million dollar contract zone.

I know Arizona is having a rough year, but Chych is a minus 31. I know some dont put a lot of weight on that stat these days , but when the +/- is that high, I do. I'm not gonna deal future picks and young prospects for someone that would be a second or third pairing Dman. He is also making 4.6 mil the next for three more years after this season. Thanks but no thanks.

It would be hard to not consider a Chychrun-Trouba as a 1st pairing

That’s, uh, exactly what is in offer lmao
No. Not really. I’m by no means a Vancouver fan. But Lundkvist isn’t a top prospect. That’s why I assumed the 2nd was added.

Vancouver may get better offers than this but it seems pretty close. Given the second year of retention, maybe Rangers add a 2023 3rd for that.

I think both trades are close. They favor the NYRs but not so significantly they can’t be altered a little to make it dollar for dollar. Pretty good job by OP, whom I’m assuming is a rangers fan.

solid second pair but not a first over Fox and Lindgren

Haha you guys need to collectively go vote on where you are as a team lol.

Simultaneously we have posters saying they are first round exits at best, while others are saying the team is so good Chychrun would not be a top pairing defensman

He'd be a top pairing defenseman, he just wouldn't play on the pairing with Fox. He'd play with Trouba in all likelihood, and get the 2nd most minutes on defense.
