Sloppy period with too many giveaways.
Need to ramp up the intensity.
Holl, and his short passes five feet from the net in traffic, will eventually cost us.

Nah Andersen was blamed for letting in clear shots right through his five hole all the time. "First shot Andersen" was a thing for awhile and it wasn't for his rebound control. His problem is that he didn't make the first save.

Yah if only we didn't have a goalie who let in clear shots 5 hole in important games.

Remember the Griswald hydro meter in Christmas Vacation when Clark finally got the lights working? I think of that every time Jack has a big game … in his case that’s his AAV for his next contract going up and up and up.

He and JT are a real thing, Mitch knows it, JT knows it there's only one guy who doesn't.

Matthews and Marner want to play together, and they get what they want. Keefe can split them here and there but they'll always be reunited.

Nylander almost fits better on our third line driving a line with a guy like Kerfoot. We could use another top 6 winger for Tavares. Nylander doesn't work well being a support player he likes to hold the puck
I agree.
He and Tavares have very little chemistry.

One of the most disappointing things about the fanbase is the lack of appreciation for all that Freddy did for this franchise.

Leafs give up 7 shots in a period and the only big scoring chance Campbell actually created because he played the point shot poorly and people are going insane over Campbell. A blocker save should never go right into the slot and he chased it to boot putting him way out of position.

If this was Freddy people would be all over him for that rebound, saying he was lucky that Gauthier put it in his chest while jack was all the way back on the goal line and be calling him out for that shot that went through the 5 hole and luckily went wide.
Freddy carried us for over half of his stay here. Definitely no playoffs for first 3 seasons without him. Maybe even 4th year. We've actually been blessed with good goaltending for a while with the exception of elimination games. When Andersen got injured last season Campbell came and saved the day.

Both of them have a lot to prove in the playoffs still, but I'm completely sold on Campbell at this point and feel good heading into round 1 with him.

I agree Freddy was pretty darned good for a long time. BUT, had the ability to let in soft back breaking goals at the worst times. Not just playoffs but many tight games a stinker got through. Touch wood I can't remember the last real back breaker soft goal Soup has let in. The old addage of a goalie "just please stop the ones you have to stop" applies here.

True but hard to compare. Our games were more wild for Freds stay. Under Babcock the underlying numbers are way worse and Fred bailed that team out a lot.
