Pretty much my feelings, as well.Big fan of the term here. Slight overpayment, but it's basically a completely 'prove it' year for him. He's moveable at that AAV.
I know he had some terrible numbers under AV, but what often got overlooked was his pretty solid transition stats and his ability to generate individual scoring chances.
I think he’ll benefit from a more north-south oriented system, and he’s shown that he is a good depth goal scorer. Never play him on the powerplay again though, please.
I mean it's like $300k over what I thought he'd get and I dont like how it takes him to UFA, but on a rebuilding team, under a new coach I dont see anything wrong with this.
