Do you think Raymond is a better player than Laf because he gets significantly more PP time?

If so, then you need to stop using raw points as some kind of meaningful stat
He’s a better player because he scores more lol. It’s that simple.

He played 1000 + minutes with a 120pt player and had 57.

Raymond averaged 1.5 mins more on the PP.

Which do you think is a bigger advantage

~40M for Shesterkin, Fox, Lafreniere, Miller, and Trocheck will end up a great situation in a few years when the cap is much higher and the Rangers are in their prime. Panarin, Kreider, and Trouba will come off the books. Schneider and Perreault are trending to be high end players as well. Zibanejad is the only potential anchor contract in the mix. Big future ahead. A contract like this is significant. Pumped!

The Rangers have the ability to do the absolute funniest thing and start playing him on the top powerplay now, and make him underpaid on a 7 year extension that hasn’t even kicked in yet.

Unfortunately Lavi is incredibly stubborn in certain things but it's time. The "at least Mika's good on the PP" which became "well it's a top PP" is obsolete. The PP has looked mediocre this year with exception of one game and Mika is a big reason why.

You’re purposely being obtuse here, so no idea why I’m wading into this.

Raymond is a very good player. He was drafted onto a bad team and was made a focal point and put into offensive and PP situations immediately.

Laf was drafted by a good team and has been a depth option offensively until last year. He still doesn’t get PP time. He is tied with Mitch Marner for 24th overall (yes, he’s overall) in 5v5 points since the beginning of last season. Raymond is 39th (also good).

These are raw points, not rates. He doesn’t play on the PP. Top players get A LOT of their points on the PP.

This isn’t rocket science.

Is 1000 + minutes with Panarin more or less beneficial than 1.5 mins more of PP time ?
