Great trade for us. What is ever more great this signals that Drury is willing to sell off our assets and weaponize our cap space to acquire assets. We can still trade CK at 50% for hopefully a big haul.

A center to boot. Doesn't look like he takes a lot of draws but 55.8 FOW% on 52 FO is encouraging. Big body. Let's see if there is any Juice in this one.

Hoping Lindgren does great sheltered on the 3rd pairing behind Toews and Girard on the depth chart.

Feels like we're just shuffling the chairs around on the deck of the titanic
That's misplaced analogy. We took sturdy but broken oak chair and exchanged it a folding black steel chair. The boat is irrelevant to the exchange and we can still more comfortably.

I don’t know why people are calling us sellers.

We traded a pending UFA with some of the worst metrics in the league and got value.

We are better today. I don’t see that as selling but trying to make the team better. We can still go both ways though. We’ll see what else Drury has in store. IMO we’re buying.
It's called hope, you masochist!

I like our 2nd coming back and the 4th rounder. Don't know a lot about Parssinen so wait on that. De Haan is an upcoming UFA too----move him if they can---otherwise he might be Lindgren's replacement for now.

It's shit that had to happen. I thought both guys were gamers. They both played hard and usually to the best of their abilities. We need to improve our D. Replace some of these guys with better players. We need more puck moving ability/offensive production and more size and aggression. Lindgren wasn't particularly great at either of those things.

Best of luck to Ryan Lindgren, who, despite the ignominious end to his tenure here, was a Ranger through and through whose effort can't be questioned.

We're at such an interesting position as a team here. It's really unclear where Drury is going with this when you look at the sum of his moves. It could be that he is making smart value oriented moves that will enable us to do a bit of an on-the-fly teardown of the current team while building out depth, or it could be that he still believes in the current core and is gearing up to add. I honestly have no clue.

cool trade, just trading Lindgren straight up for de Haan would've been an upgrade but they got even more stuff with him. rare Drury win.

my one question about Parssinen: can he skate? It sounds like no.

but size and skill and willingness to grind are worth something, especially just to build culture. Put him with Othmann and Brodz/Berard and see if they can get something cooking.

I really like the way Drury is operating. He knows the team isn’t good enough and is making moves when they present themselves. It’s not a video game where you can change things overnight. This team is already vastly different than the one on opening night with 2 of the biggest anchors gone. Feels like we’re aiming for a retool more than a rebuild.

He’s a bad skater. I think putting two wingers who can skate and forecheck is a prerequisite if you want a guy like parssinen to have any success on a line.

We are better but I don't think the FO sees it that way.

Lindgren isn’t the love of Drury’s life like he was Lavi’s, but a move like this is definitely a waving the white flag.

The only question is how much more does he get done between now and Friday and what waits until the summer.

Ryan Lindgren was never a star, but he was my favorite Ranger of this iteration. I had no problem acknowledging his break down, and I know why everyone wanted him gone at the end, but he deserves nothing but praise in my book. We complain about guys like Laf or whomever having questionable commitment to fitness or improving and Lindgren with 1/6 the hype or talent (or earnings) gave us every ounce he had.

Realizing I’m almost positive I made the exact same post about Girardi when his time here ended too. Guess I’ve got a type. Or just like seeing dudes bleed for their team.
My biggest concern is perhaps lindy isnt breaking down yet. The coaching has destroyed all of our Dmen's game.
Every single dman is having a terrible season.
Man to man/hybrid...its BS
I look forward to Lindy bouncing back just like McD did in TB

anyone who doesn't believe that lindgren will have relative success playing a 3rd pairing/pk role on a good team like Col is fooling themselves.

he was asked to do too much here. and he always would be

Question for the capologists here.....does the retention cover half of the contract value (namely $2.25mil) or half of what's left on the contract to date?

Thanks.

I’d say no doubt he’s going to fit fine as a third pairing guy where he should be playing. I still think the toll he paid has worn his body down and there’s not likely to be some revival to a 20+ minute stalwart, but I think he’ll do fine in Colorado and I wish him the best.

Thought it was just the two finns coming over and still thought it was a good deal.

I liked DeHaan in his draft year. But to get the picks too and the better of a second that’s more than fine.

Nice job here and echoing what others said glad we aren’t giving we are getting with this one

Also think the bargaining point that drury used here was the 50% retention.

Why do we always get slow players.

Im happy we unloaded lindgren.

Im not thrilled with the fact we target yet another alow player. Can we target someone with some wheels who is an effective forechecker

Can someone explain to me why we didn't acquire any Finnish players aside from a couple of months of Mikkola (not counting Pajuniemi) when Kakko was here, but now we have TWO Finnish players when Kakko is gone?
No explanation. But isn't that more of "Hockey is different here"? Makes absolutely ZERO sense. I mean, we ALL stated that KK NEEDED an older Finnish player that he could speak freely to, would have helped enormously in his development. Especially if he was a forward. But, I digress.
