NYR - mathew roberston l, kravstov 2023 1st rnd pick (cap dump)
STL - tarasenko 50% retained barbashev
This trade gives rangers a center for third line and the top six sniper
OK that's good, question isn't it good to have two centers on a line just incase one gets kicked out the circle like they do almost every face offYou mean, like Chytil?
Not saying it's a great deal, but you literally just when you said your team has 1 guy that complete a pass. The fact that you have guys who by your own admission aren't good doesn't negate the need for getting guys at that position who are good.
Krug
Leddy
Waive Rosen, let Mikkola walk
Gives you space for 1 more LD who can play and another to be the 7th.
1 unaware from StL perspective you were super stocked at LD
If it helps, ones is lefty, but can play either side.
2. I went there b'c you advised few good passing D on Blues
Jones' game not without shortcomings, but he, in the style of Fox and redundant as such in NY, fits that particular need
3. As to value + currency:
Jones was a 3rd rounder; adding a late current 3rd rounder for better 3rd this yr or a 2nd in 2024
NY only interested in picks which add no cap.
If that is a fit, great!
If not, sorry but NY gotta be about cap next yr + after which we repurpose Trouba + bread
That deal was my thought as well but perhaps taking two Lower picks instead of one of their firsts like a 2nd and a 3rd as would be common to trade up for on draft dayTake out Blais and Barbashev
Like I stated earlier barbs can play physical, can play center and all wings. Great forchecker with a scoring touch. If your center gets tossed out of a defensive zone start, wouldn't be nice to have another natural center take face off?The Rangers don't need a top 9 center.
Zibanejad-Trocheck-Chytil.
Even with the injuries the Blues have he’s still not a Centre.Barbashev is a center. He was developed as a center and played most of last year center one of the hottest lines in the NHL buch barbs tarasenko. He is billed as center on all sites. Is considered a center by nhl analyst and has played center this year.....so is it me or you who doesn't know sheet. Lol
If not for St Lou, fine, but he is surplus for NYR.Fair enough. But if we have to compromise it would be on something other than size, since we have too many small and they don’t play well together. Seems like rangers would be better place for Jones as their d general all have size (other than fox).
We have Goodrow as well who can play center.OK that's good, question isn't it good to have two centers on a line just incase one gets kicked out the circle like they do almost every face off
That is your opinion, which is fair, but you have absolutely no idea what Drury. So why speak like you’re certain? I think there’s almost a 40% chance one of those 1sts gets moved for a rental like Kane or TarasenkoRangers can't afford to re-sign either player so they aren't giving up a 1st in this year's draft for a rental.
But, they may be willing to trade their 2024 1st for a rental.
people make stupid decisions all the timeThat is your opinion, which is fair, but you have absolutely no idea what Drury. So why speak like you’re certain? I think there’s almost a 40% chance one of those 1sts gets moved for a rental like Kane or Tarasenko
Lol he is a center being used as a wing. So by your logic is drais not a center?Even with the injuries the Blues have he’s still not a Centre.
Dumb.Lol he is a center being used as a wing. So by your logic is drais not a center?
So it's OK to say one is a center and the other isn't. Lol they are both centers who play wingsDumb.
Drai is moving to the wing for McDavid. Barbashev is moved to the wing for Acciari.
One moves to the Wing to let The best player in the world play Centre. The other team is so desperate to get a player away from center they play a barely NHL level player there Instead. So it's OK to say one is a center and the other isn't. Lol they are both centers who play wings
Barbashev is the better C out of him and Acciari, But he's also the much better LWer out of those two as well. One moves to the Wing to let The best player in the world play Centre. The other team is so desperate to get a player away from center they play a barely NHL level player there Instead.
No.Barbashev is the better C out of him and Acciari, But he's also the much better LWer out of those two as well.
The issue is they are playing with Tarasenko, who only plays RW. So they went with the person who's better on the LW side to go the LW than trying to force Acciari play in his off-side. The same way when Saad is with them Saad is on the LW, Barbie as C, and Acciari as RW.
No he's not...thomas centered Buch and tarasenko most of last year when they actually were the hottest line in hockey....Barbs has been a winger 95% of the time he's beenon the ice since the beginning of the 2019 season if not earlier....he was a center for us in like 2017 when our only other options were stastny and lehtera lolBarbashev is a center. He's a depth winger, idk why ranger fans who clearly don't watch blues games are calling him a center, he's not, he's played a couple games there this year due to injuries and line jumbling due to us struggling.Great. He's a center. The Rangers don't need a center.
Tarasenko could be of interest, but we aren't paying a 1st for him. If some other team is willing to do that, good for them.
Did you read any of the posts we replied to? BlueTacos was the one making that claim, not Ranger fans. Ranger fans were arguing the opposite. I wasn't actually agreeing with him, I was making the point that even if he were a center, we don't need one, despite what BlueTacos also claimed. He's a depth winger, idk why ranger fans who clearly don't watch blues games are calling him a center, he's not, he's played a couple games there this year due to injuries and line jumbling due to us struggling.
He's a nice depth fit for the rangers if they need a fast physical presence that can light the lamp every now and then down there lineup. Personally i don't see the fit, unless the rags want to break up the kid line or if they want to pay a premium for a barbashev and put him on their 4th line? idk....
Calling barbs a center is like calling chytill a winger and laf a center
Gotcha, I skimmed, thought Bluetaco was a ranger fan, just trying to help you guys realize what he actually is... since I assume as a Winger, that actually might make him more attractive for your fanbase rather than being touted as a 3C to replace chytil for no reason.Did you read any of the posts we replied to? I'm sure Drury has interest, but it will depend on the price tag. We can't afford to re-sign him, so he would be a pure rental for us. A team looking to re-sign him might be willing to pay more.Gotcha, I skimmed, thought Bluetaco was a ranger fan, just trying to help you guys realize what he actually is... since I assume as a Winger, that actually might make him more attractive for your fanbase rather than being touted as a 3C to replace chytil for no reason.
