St. Louis supposedly wanted him but Chara wants to stay close to Boston.

Because we only have two LDs and Chara was the best possible player still unsigned. Hopefully Salo or Bolduc will be playing regularly by the end of the season, but Chara offers some depth.

I wanted this so bad at the end of the season and last year because I thought the fit was great and that he would be good in Trotz system. That being said, my friend is a capitals fan and did not want Chara back so take that into consideration too.

I still think it’s a good low risk move though.

Yeah. I’m hoping that we end up with Salo/Bolduc ultimately as the 2LD, and Chara/Greene split time in the third pairing. Try to keep them fresh.

I like the Isles a helluva lot more than the Caps so it'll be easier to root for him.

On the ice, he's nothing more than a PK specialist at this point, big body too, but I'm sure he'll be a great leader. He's also terrific at finances so maybe he can hook up Wahlstrom and some other youngsters with a house or something.
