Early start for the last game of 2024.
No Matthews, again.
Woll gets the net.

They really should. Islanders (2x), Boston and Flyers (2x), 3 of which are at home, should be wins. Taking advantage of all the home games in December and January will be helpful in the back half of the season.Busy week ahead.
I can see them winning the next 5 straight beginning tomorrow
These are professional athletes, and the second game is against one of the worst teams in the league (with both games at home). There is no reason to complain about the schedule.Another back to back this weekend?
Absurd
Good news that's it's until end of February.Another back to back this weekend?
Absurd
Tell that to the players and coaches who complained about it. Our schedule has been stupid, recall the long breaks in games prior, it's been an asinine calendar all year. These are professional athletes, and the second game is against one of the worst teams in the league (with both games at home). If it were balanced then you are correct. These are professional athletes, and the second game is against one of the worst teams in the league (with both games at home). There is no reason to complain about the schedule.
Yeah it’s not that big of a deal. Sure they have the short end of the stick, but I would assume some teams have worse travel distance and schedules over the course of a season as well. I don’t think I should have to work back to back days as well. These are professional athletes, and the second game is against one of the worst teams in the league (with both games at home). seems like it's because Amazon doesn't want Leafs playing on Mondays unless its on AmazonAnother back to back this weekend?

Big travel weekend for the Leafs this weekend. They have to...drive (pr in some cases walk or subway) to the arena. My heart bleeds.Yeah it’s not that big of a deal. Ottawa has 13 back to back games. Tampa has 12. Florida has 13. Montreal has 15. Carolina has 14. Toronto has 14. NYR has 14. LA has 13 and travels across the continent. Again, cry me a river. The schedule is the schedule. If that's the excuse for losing, then the team deserves to lose.If it doesn’t matter then give all our back to backs to other teams

Leafs have more back to backs than anyone in the league aside from Carolina in the NHL. So we do have a reason to complain. Especially when they all seem to be travel B2B’s and not just a 2 game home stand. Winnipeg has half the back to backs that we do.
I hear what you are saying but the body takes a beating playing a physical sport. Its why they play football once a week. The wussification of pro sports. Imagine having to work 2 days in a row. If they play 3 more back to backs than a team, thats like one every 2 months. I agree it should be more equal, but it’s not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. I guess people will grab on to anything for an excuse

Not sure if the players are complaining, but these guys should go work construction or roofing for 10 hours a day, that’s taking a beating. Do it 5 days a week or more for literal peanuts compared to what these guys are paid to play a sport.I hear what you are saying but the body takes a beating playing a physical sport. Pro athletes work a lot on their days off from playing.
Still can't use their schedule as an excuse. The number wouldn't be so high with the 4 Nations.
It will happen again during the Olympics year
It's not about players being wimps, it's just annoying because its a statistical disadvantage and even moreso it elevates the risk of injury on top of an already absurd 82 game schedule that can't even be played at 100% hockey. Not sure if the players are complaining, but these guys should go work construction or roofing for 10 hours a day, that’s taking a beating. That’s assuming MLSE cares about winning. It’s all about jersey salesIt’s easy for us to be game ready on a back to back but a little different if you have to play the games.
I think the time to complain would have been in the summer while these schedules were being drawn up. If I’m MLSE I’m fighting to get those travel B2B’s down because I want the competitive advantage and preferential treatment.
