Islanders trade 1stOA and 3rd round pick to SJ for 2nd OA, Dallas 1st and Ottawa 2nd round pick.

Utah trades 4thOA to Islanders for Dobson

Islanders trade Dallas 1st, Ottawa 2nd, and Islanders 2nd to Pitt for 11thOA

Isles pick Misa with 2nd
Isles pick Hagens with 4th
Isles pick Mrtka with 11th.
SJ gets their star D-man
Utah gets a young established top line right handed D-man.
Pitt gets 3 draft picks to help with their rebuild.
Isles resign DeAngelo and give Boqvist a full year to show if he can become the highly touted puck moving D-man when he was drafted.

I think you could probably get the Sharks to agree to that trade. I have no idea why Utah would trade 4th overall for Dobson when they have Sergachev. That deal with Pittsburgh seems acceptable from a value perspective but I don't know if they'd want to trade back to that extent.

Romanov seemed to be the Utah target from the Isles based on LHD needs. Personally I want to keep Romanov as an Isles fan.

In a vacuum, the "value" is likely there for the Penguins but we sorely need quality over quantity.

If the deal somehow gets the Penguins 2OV, then we can talk. Otherwise, no.

Sharks do this

idk if Islanders do Dobson for 4OA.. idk if Utah does either so it’s prob fair

Ridiculous for Pittsburgh though. Going to be a trade back of 18 spots at best (11 to 29). 2 2nds feels very light.

If they can land Misa and hometown Hagens in the process I think they do. Then you have those two plus Calum Ritchie down the middle for the next 10-15 years. Probably can move Hagens to wing. They’ll need to figure out the D but that’s a bit easier than acquiring high end C talent outside of the draft.

Pens aren't giving up their highest draft pick since 2012 for a couple more magic beans. They have depth coming up and a lot of picks stocked up already through some shrewd moves by Dubas. They have no high end talent in the system. If anything they'd be looking to package picks to get higher, or send that pick for an established young player. They aren't going to do this.

I'd trade 11OA and the Rangers TBD pick this year or next to get up to get Misa or Hagens. That doesn't seem realistic so we stand pat.

Pens have a ton of picks already over the next 3 years, they need quality not just quantity. I'm not against moving back but moving back to that late in the first isn't worth it.

Islanders trade 1stOA and 3rd round pick to SJ for 2nd OA, Dallas 1st and Ottawa 2nd round pick.

Its fair for this dtaft. It wouldn't work if you had a clear 1st OA that had space with 2nd OA
Utah trades 4thOA to Islanders for Dobson

Dobson is not worth 4th OA. ISLES NEED TO ADDD
Islanders trade Dallas 1st, Ottawa 2nd, and Islanders 2nd to Pitt for 11thOA

NOT close at all. Dalkas pick coukd be 29-32 vs 11 OA needs alot more than 2 2nds.

One 2nd could get you up by abour 5 spots late in the 1st like 22-24. Thr other 2nf could get you to high teens.in a normal draft. This is s worse draft
Isles pick Misa with 2nd
Isles pick Hagens with 4th
Isles pick Mrtka with 11th.
SJ gets their star D-man
Utah gets a young established top line right handed D-man.
Pitt gets 3 draft picks to help with their rebuild.

I would need to hear names like Jarry and Graves included to have any interest at all in this type of transaction.
Would you do with the Sharks, the Dallas pick and the Ottawa 2nd rounder for #11 and Jarry if Jarry could be convinced to waive his trade clause since he likely has the Sharks on it?

I would think about it. If the top 10 of the draft goes badly for the Pens, I just might pull that trigger. If there is a center leftover at pick No. 11, then I would decline.

I think a lot of fans will be disappointed when the Isles draft Schaefer #1, and don't trade down or trade any of their players.
Yea, I could realistically see a Dobson trade around draft time if they have a hold up with his contract, but the #1 ain’t moving lol

Why would the Penguins sacrifice draft pick value to move out Jarry or Graves?

I know the answer is because you refuse to acknowledge that they're rebuilding, but come on. Throwing away a #11 pick to get out of Jarry's deal is completely nonsensical for where this team is at.

I honestly don't think that many will be. In that case Sharks get Misa so Will can stay with Macklin then the Hawks get someone like Martone or Hagens to play with Bedard for the future. Both teams still get a happy outcome for the future. Also while the Sharks could use a RHD like Dobson, his 1 yr to potential 10mil+ payday is frightening enough for fans to be okay with not going all in for him. Only one that will be disappointed will be Isles fans not getting their dream kid hagens while going EA NHL trading down for a future.

Those fans are morons. Leaving the draft with Schaefer is an absolute home run. Enough with the Hagens crap he’s only talked about because he’s from Long Island. He isn’t the best prospect in this draft and he will not be picked #1. Schaefer will be wearing orange and blue.

On the pens side it's a no, it's a weak draft already outside of the top ten we don't need to stock pile more non 1st round picks to move farther away from the top ten in a bad draft year.

The pens should absolutely not be using significant assets to move out bad contracts, especially right now.

They have plenty of cap space, in reality aren't going to be competitive, and both players will have a fresh start under a new coach and a new system.

At least in graves case, without Sullivan trying to turn him into something he's not, a new coach might get him a little closer to Colorado/new jersey form and not the healthy scratch that Sullivan created.

Burn another year of their contacts as the cap goes up, try to rehabilitate at least graves, if not both, under a new regime and hope that maybe you can get to a place where, at the very least, your aren't paying a ridiculous amount to dump them in the future.

I swear it’s like a kid trying to tell a story: Hagens and Long Island and Islanders fan and Tavares and Maple Leafs and bedsheets.

Why are there so many Dobson to Utah for 4th overall proposals? The answer is no. RD is not a weakness worth sacrificing a premium asset like 4th overall for.
