From an Islander point of view. We need scoring, but I also think we need size and grit. So this proposal doesn't address scoring but I think it helps with the ladder.

NY send
Halak - $4.5M
Quine - $612K

Kings send
Nolan - $950K
Clifford - $1.6M

I would do Nolan for Berube. Cant do Halak. Too much money, signed for next year and if he gets injured (like he usually does) we would be royally screwed.

Both Kings players could be had, but I wouldn't really be interested in Halak, especially at that caphit.

lol no way again no need for halak ( wish islander fans would realize that Halak makes to much money even at 50%) La already has a back up goalie for next year and he makes 900k Also not giving up one of my favourite players in clifford He just resigned and plays a king style game to a tee

From the islanders side. It seems like Halak is the odd man out. The one management wants to move. So with that I don't see them moving Berube right now. They are going to look hard for a Halak taker.

The Best Spot for Halak Is The Stars but it would have to be a creative deal most likely a 3 team deal. Not sure if Snow can be that Creative as He as many teams are up against the cap. Money for Money plus Stars would need to find a place for one of its net minders.

Not so sure Halak is an upgrade for Dallas. Seems like more of the same junk they already have.

Lee cap hit is 3.75 mil and is struggling. No thanks

Lee has more top six skill then King. Nolan is sitting more then playing. Even when playing hes not standing up for players which is why hes out there. king and nolan are 2.9 mill maybe we could get them to hold .75 of his contract ? Lee is the type of talent we need in top 6 till gaborik comes back Also it ensure kings isn't there

And gives us an under performing player making to much $$$$. We have enough issues of our own.

he wouldn't be any worse then king in top 6 opportunity If not its only a month till gaborik is back Someone will have to go at that point I would take that risk Think of it this way we lose 2 under performing players for one that may bounce back Again we have them take 700-900 k to make the money even

Giving up Lee makes no sense for NYI.
But like I said, I think my proposal of Halak and Quine for Nolan and Clifford, but don't score are mainly 4th liners is a fair deal for both.

Let's not forget, Halak is not a bum. So he got hurt last year. Look at the year he had for the Isles the year before. and what he did in Montreal and St.Louis.

I get I'm not asking for full value, only because of his salary. I just don't see how this isn't a win win for both teams. Quick is hurt for a while.

Isn't Lee a pretty big guy?

He is, but he's not a banger, a high energy guy. We need that bad. If you look at our team last 2 years. Our team feed off our 4th line. Got energy and got the team all fired up. That's why I'm proposaling that deal

Well Clifford is definitely the guy you want then. King definitely is not that guy. He's more of a possession guy who's solid defensively and pretty good getting the puck out of the defensive zone. Not much energy though and extremely slow. Nolan doesn't really bring anything to the table. Most Kings fans are confused as to why he's even on the team anymore.

But Halak doesn't really make any sense unless the Islanders retain 50% and the Kings can find a taker for Zatkoff to avoid paying two backups over $3 million combined.

getting Halak makes no sense for la I don't understand why it doesn't make sense to islander fans when its been stated several times in several different threads Halak makes to much money to sit for 65 ish games a year. He may or may not be needed for about 2 months However Budja is playing really well right now We have no need for him. The kings spend less than a million on backups We also have one sign for next year in zatkoff

fair enough, but I have heard rumors that say different. Not here to argue, just trying to proposal a fair deal that involves him. No biggie.

Lee to me is more skilled and better skater than King He has top 6 skill level I might be wrong but that's how i read it. This trade would get rid of redundant players king and nolan for someone with skill lee

I get why it makes sense for the Kings. Just was confused when it said the Islanders want to get bigger while Lee is a big guy. Didn't know he wasn't a physical player. I'd love to get Lee but King + Nolan seems a bit of a weak proposal.

I have read the rumours as well Unless there is someone like brown or gaborik or someone else with more cap going I don't see how the kings pay a backup that much cash It makes no sense to me. I wasn't trying to argue i was just trying to say its been tried and this makes no sense to me

I hear ya...I understand where you guys are coming from. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I did recently hear that LA/NYI might be talking about a muti-player deal. Someone mentioned it could involve a 3rd team. Sounds interesting if nothing else. lol
