I would like to see him given a fair shot.

He has shown some flashes... I get the impression he doesn't get along with Trotz

Perhaps it's because his idea of defensive play is staring at the puck until his plodding feet can't get him to where he needs to be. Trotz gave him more shots than Josh Ho-Sang.
Ho-Sang have no work ethic. He arrived in Sweden overweight and badly trained, completely sucked, got fired by his SHL team, got signed by another SHL team, and completely sucked there too.

Did he use PEDs? What was the story with that, I know he was suspended because of it, what was his defense? If he did use PEDS it is mind boggling the Isles keep him around as those guys are never team guys and not a guy you want on your squad, but I guess if you have privileges it helps you get multiple chances

What do you mean by that, exactly?

They mean that if his name were John Smith instead of Bellows he wouldn't have gotten another contract. That's speculation, but from what we know about pro hockey, it's hardly absurd.

I think it's funny that JHS fans believe he deserves a million chances after burning each one he's been given, which is a lot. On the other hand, other players don't deserve a second chance when they've otherwise shown a lot more commitment and team-first approach, not me-first like Josh. And if they get a second chance, it must be due to privilege.

Out of Bellows and JHS, one is definitely more entitled than the other. I know some of you won't be able to correctly guess which one.

You touched upon it somewhat. But for me, It’s always been weird that despite Ho Sang consistently burning bridges (to some degree) at every level, league and team… that some people see the reason for him not succeeding on the Islanders only as an “Islander thing.”

Only for those that haven't followed him since juniors.

The excuses were the same then too. They never hold him responsible for his own actions, no matter what. That's the root of it.

I think the Coyotes might put in a claim if he's waived. They have a weak roster with some spots open for a young, hungry player to step into and Bellows played with Keller at BU.

Saying that Bellows is less entitled than JHS is a pretty low bar to set.

He made the team out of camp last year but was unforgettable and was demoted. He got a fair chance and wasn't ready yet-maybe this year he will be.

Ho-Sang is a huge child. I remember his dad making a video about how the team brass should forgive him for being out of shape and late for practice. I don't hate on Ho-Sang because he seems to be a nice guy and all, but he has absolutely zero professionalism. Bellows seems to lack either brains or coachability, but at least he seems to work his ass off.

Bellows really hasn't been given much of a sample size, he's had a few games here, a few games there. If given the opportunity (and earned of course), he can round himself into a 20 goal 3rd liner. A young team that can give him latitude would be a conducive fit for him to blossom.

Personally I don’t think he got much of a chance.

14 games, 11 minutes ice time a game. On a team starved for offense, his one power move goal last year stood out.

I understand he’s not the defensively responsible player Trotz wants out of the gate but that can be worked on.

Like others, I wonder if the PED thing is the driving issue here.

If he was generating offense I'd agree...but he wasn't and he's bad defensively to boot. If he was a 3rd round pick we wouldn't even be having this discussion because it would be a given that he's currently not good enough. Hopefully this year he will be.

He is a complete moran. He destroys every chance he gets. Will be a tirr III superstar. He can just play hockey if he has the -complete superstar -role.
