I'm thinking Boychuk's injury is worse than they first thought and need some insurance if Pulock AND Pelech/Mayfield aren't enough?

Or Mayfield wasn't impressing and rather have Seidenberg as their 7th?

like it a lot for NYI. guy has had a solid WCH and has been a key component of that Europe top four dmen that is a huge reason they are where they are. looks to be more mobile than I recall last season as well, maybe the full summer to train without injury has gotten some of it back for him.

This is what I'm thinking. They must not have liked him in the preseason games he played.

I guess Pulock isn't ready yet, hehe.

Probably just an insurance adder.

Same thing when people asked why Flames signed Setoguchi a while ago. If the rookies weren't performing at least you had a cheap experienced vet who can be demoted pretty easily.

Even if the best years are behind still not bad to have options.

TSN's headline of "Isles to sign Europe D Seidenberg" is kind of annoying. Like this brief appearance on a fake team is what defines Seidenberg best.

Does Seidenberg play the right side? This could be connected with the Boychuk injury, because I feel like Seidenberg is still good enough to play every night.

He is good enough to play a 3rd pairing role and can even occasionally replace someone on the 2nd pairing.

He just wasn't worth the 4M or so that he was making in Boston. But for 1M, this contract is a no brainer.

Good on Seidenberg. Like others have said, expect at best a bottom pairing D at this stage of his career. Still a warrior at heart, will always remain in Bruins fans hearts.

That's one slow, bad defense corps

Please tell me you're talking about the Bruins and not the Islanders, because they are neither of those things.

Nobody's expecting prime Seidenberg. I'm okay with having a guy at this stage of his career on the roster.

He is a playoff warrior. Good depth signing for the Isles at the very least.
