Oddly, I don't think that'll happen this time around. Seems like he's going to mostly be down in Bridgeport to provide leadership for them, with the occasional call up in times of injury or when the coach feels he needs to put on the foil.

And some how Kris Versteeg can't get an NHL contract.

I'm sure if Versteeg was willing to agree to a 2way deal he'd be signed.

Tavares loves him. 2 years ago he told management that Boulton was important to the locker room. As long as Tavares is the captain and Boulton wants to play he will have an NHL contract. He won't play more than 5-10 games. If that.

Pretty sad when your best player is the GM. Maybe Boulton can tuck him in at night.

If Wilson was as awful as Boulton, I'd want him out of the organization. Is Boulton even AHL caliber?

It was a joke, calm down. Boulton can play on the 4th line and not be noticeable, which is good enough for me. And if it keeps JT happy with our clown show management it's even better.

As a Rangers fan, I'm glad to see the Isles sign a guy didn't put up a point last year. He's a real legend because he did it in 2012-13, as well as in 2011-12 with the Devils. I hope he plays until he's 50, at this rate.

I know it was a joke :)

But let's be serious here, wouldn't you like it if JT complained about the management and the coaching in public? Surely he has some influence on the team, maybe things could change.

He may not have the power to get a coach fired like Crosby does, but he can always put Capuano closer to the door.

I've always wanted him to do that, but he just doesn't have the type of personality.

He seems like the kind of guy who just puts his head down and does his job, without complaining about coworkers or management. It is a quality to a certain extent. I'd be frustrated if I was him, his prime years are just being wasted away without a clear shot at the Cup in sight.

That's his biggest weakness IMO. He tries to elevate himself to even higher levels, but it usually just leads to him trying to do too many things. There's nothing wrong with asking for help and I think a good coach would be able to correct this issue. Kinda like Ovi and Trotz, but with different bad habits. Instead we get "battle hahd"

Time for my Eric Boulton story!

Back when the Thrashers were in Atlanta if you got to the games during the warmup you used to be able to go down to the glass and players would flick pucks to you while they were warming up. One time I took my 6 year old nephew. My nephew is a huge hockey fan and was all decked out in Thrashers gear, so the players loved him. He got so many pucks.

In fact, he got so many that he thought he should share with other people. That's when Eric Boulton flicked him a puck and started skating in a circle. My nephew decided to share the puck with an older guy that was also hanging around the glass looking for pucks. So, as Boulton completes his circle all he sees is this guy grabbing the puck out of my nephew's hand.

He proceeds to go completely ******* banging against the glass and screaming at the guy that he better not steal the kids puck. Poor guy looks terrified and quickly hands my nephew the puck back...
