Press reported in Nov 2015 and after the 2016 playoffs that the isles were shutting down other teams who were calling, asking if Strome were available.
According to the press, the isles have no interest in trading Strome.

The Canadian press meanwhile, has reported the Oilers have shopped Yak and found trade value to be very low because of his development and the upcoming expansion draft.

I guess it boils down to how much you like Jim Matheson, mostly been off for the last decade and most surely been worse since closed lips Chiarelli took the helm.

NYI's reluctance to trade Strome doesn't really add trade value for me, they're 2 players in the same productive boat. Not 2 ships passing in the night.

I did not care enough about the Yak trade rumors to look for multiple sources, discussing his trade value. I do think that Jason Gregor, whose work I like, has also said Yak has lousy trade value.

Whether fans on message boards think Strome's trade value is similar, is not a big concern since from all reports the isles have no interest in trading Strome. We will see how Strome reacts to the chance to see significant playing time at center again.
