If that's what you're looking for for Strome can St Louis get in on this action?

As an Oilers fan yes, and I actually think Yakupov can bounce back and become a top 6 forward in a more healthy environment. A change of scenery for both reclamation projects can be great for both players and organizations. I'd even be willing to add some minor pieces to get it done.

Absolutely not coming from an Islanders fan. How soon we forget Strome scored 50 points in his first full season in the NHL. He was thrown all around the lineup and Cappy tried to make him a winger last year. You even acknowledge how low his value is so why even trade him?

Let Strome center Nelson and Lee this season. Trading him makes no sense unless we are upgrading.

I know others value Strome higher, but as an Isles fan even I know his value is low right now. I guess it depends on what your offering.

Even if his value is low cause he had a down year it's not so lo you move him for Yak. Just hold on to him find a way to play him at center where he is more comfy and let his grow.

The absence of Taylor Hall is the change of scenery Yak needs. I don't think Yak was ever 100% comfortable in the locker room being on the outside of Hall's clique. I think Yak will mesh well with Draisaitl and Pouliot.

I realize that in terms of current value, we win the deal, but outside of hockey IQ there's not a single area I'd rate Strome higher. The fact he's a natural C means nothing to a team with McD, Drai and Nuge. Yak is much more dynamic in terms of skill set. I think Yak bounces back and I want it to be here.

Totally get why the Isles would have zero interest. The only reason I'm quoting you is because you can pretty much substitute Yak's name and it's the exact same story (great first year, tossed around the lineup by Eakins/TMac, played out of position when it was abundantly clear he's no good on LW). For all the same reasons the Isles don't do this deal, the Oil shouldn't consider it either (despite Strome having the higher value currently).

My one issue with Yakupov is that he has had three bad seasons in a row. I don't doubt he has the talent but Strome had one bad season. What team doesn't understand to play the guy at his normal position after four years?

Isles nor Edmonton should really be trading these guys. Strome had one bad year and he can prove himself this year. Yakupov has such a low value, whatever team trades for him will get a steal.

Strome's not a reclamation project though.

Scenery swap I feel would be most helpful to both

Islanders receive: N. Yakupov

Oilers receive: R. Strome

I think value is mostly there, and I think both orgs could benefit from this.

No interest at all in Yak.
None.

In 2 full nhl seasons, Strome's had 1 very strong top 6 season and 1 very disappointing top 6 season.
Hardly the first inconsistent young player.

Isles should not care about sweeteners. Yak is not an upgrade in anyway on Strome. Oilers can keep him.

This year is a tell tail for both players if they don't produce they will both have the same value next season
If Yak plays with Pouliot LD he will have a nice bounce back year
Our fwd lines for this year
Lucic, McD, Eberle
Maroon, RNH, Puljujarvi
Pouliot, LD, Yak
Hendricks, Letestu, Kaissin

I am very happy with that

Yeah, well good luck with Yak

Press has reported that the isles rejected trade attempts by for Strome , in Nov. 2015 and after the 2016 playoffs.

Both the nyi player and front office , have indicated they are looking for him to play a key role next season and having seen Brock Nelson sign just before training camp last season, Isle fans should not be stressed if Strome's new bridge contract does not get done until the start of camp .

Again, not lobbying for this trade and admit Strome has the higher value, but you seriously don't think Yak is an upgrade in certain areas? Strome definitely has the hockey sense area by a considerable amount, but I honestly can't think of another area where Strome would grade higher when it comes to skill set.

Pass from this Oilers fan. Sideways move that doesn't address our bottom-6 grit issue (cause Strome ain't playing in the top-6 on the Oilers)
