I have NEVER seen a trade proposal not have one negative comment about it two pages in. And a 3-team trade! Amazing by everyone here. :handclap::handclap:

Okay, here's one. How are the Islanders shipping out 2.5 mil and taking back 4.75 mil when they only have about 780k in cap space?

Uh no, Nyquist has a higher cap hit than Fowler. And it's a total misconception that a Fowler trade has anything to do with their cap woes. It doesn't at all. Despres does.

Fowler is only moved for an equivalent roster forward in a pure hockey deal to improve this team

You'd be receiving Nelson, a 25 goal scorer that's on a 2.5 a year contract and is an rfa at the end of it. That's pretty good value and you'd be saving.

I doubt you'd get that type of return unless you're picking up equal salary

First off Nyquist isn't going to Anaheim he's going to the Islanders, One of Strome/Nelson who make only $2.5 million would be going to Anaheim and they're 25 goal scorers so this would be a very good deal for them and then Detroit brings Cam Fowler home.

In OP's trade, Nyquist would be going to the NYI.

NYI sends one of Strome/Nelson to Anaheim

Anaheim sends Fowler to Detroit

Detroit sends Nyquist to NYI

Nelson? No. Strome? Maybe. In terms of value it's pretty fair IMO.

ANA really can't stand to lose Fowler at the moment, the way our D is playing.

They have a hair under $1.4m after waiving PaP if they send Pulock down to start the season until Grabo goes on LTIR. So with 2.5 going the other way in trade, they would have to shed about $850. That is done by sending one of the kids back to jr, or waiving one of Quine/Prince.

I mean you are a buzzkill eh? Just having fun with a made up trade that everyone seems to like on paper and you have to find a negative. Amazing.

That's not where the objection comes from. It's the other five defensemen.
