Ducks and wings don't trade together, so a 3way deal would be the only way it would get done.

Done from Anaheim's perspective. And no to swapping Fowler for Vatanen.

Obviously they do talk, Because the rumored asking price for Cam Fowler at the draft was Mantha/AA+Detroit's 2016 1st round pick. So obviously Murray and Holland were discussing a deal and Holland didn't want to part with either Mantha or AA or the 1st rounder.

huh... maybe not when the wings were in the WCF.. but I def could see us trading with them now... and both of our teams strengths are opposites so we actually make some what good partners.

NYI sends one of Strome/Nelson to Anaheim

Anaheim sends Fowler to Detroit

Detroit sends Nyquist to NYI

This isles fan says Yes Yes Yes!!!!!
The cap will be an issue but that's something to figure out later.
Great proposal!

Officially it would be 2 seperate trades like strome for fowler then fowler for nyquist.

The last one I remember with the isles was Steve Thomas to the Devils for Claude Lemieux.
Then we trade Claude Lemieux to Colorado for Wendel Clark.

Back then I had hair on my head and none in my ears.

Wouldn't mind this deal, Nyquist has some years remaining on his contract so it isn't a "give me value for this upcoming UFA" type of proposal. Could certainly help the Isles even if Strome/Nelson find success in Anaheim.

This works for me. Anaheim gets their cheap player and free's up capspace, Detroit upgrades their defense. I think everyone wins.

This is a great proposal. All teams involved seem to be happy, such a rare thing these days. I'm assuming Anaheim does nothing until Lindholm signs though.

Anaheim's defense other than Fowler has been shaky at best through preseason. I don't think they can afford to trade the only guy that is playing at a top 4 level right now.

That's my only real objection to this proposal.

Props to the OP, because I think it considered all three teams.

I have NEVER seen a trade proposal not have one negative comment about it two pages in. And a 3-team trade! Amazing by everyone here. :handclap::handclap:

I like it. But you have to catch old man Kenny at about 330-430 just after nap time and pre dinner pudding in the old folks home. After that he takes his meds and will be out. He won't do it.

The " experts" made this proposal, because Fowler would go back home, and ducks need a forward etc. etc neither BM or holland ever confirmed this because BM won't do business with the wings and I don't think they want to do business with us, even in different conferences now, the hate between organizations ran to deep for to long . edit if they were open for business together i'm sure a deal would've been made long ago.

Wouldn't this trade give the Ducks the cap room to sign Lindholm?

Uh no, Nyquist has a higher cap hit than Fowler. And it's a total misconception that a Fowler trade has anything to do with their cap woes. It doesn't at all. Despres does.

Fowler is only moved for an equivalent roster forward in a pure hockey deal to improve this team
