If nothing else our top guys will no longer get abused every night on the ice

Fritz, Gillies, Konopka (for faceoffs only) and Justin Johnson will be playing Philly next week when Garnet Hathaway and company try to goon it up since big Russian hit player.

Ken Holland did something with Nabokov some years ago and Islanders claimed him and it screwed the Red Wings as that was near the end of their run and needed a goalie.

I hope yzerman claims this guy just to screw Islanders. Retribution!

That would be odd, considering prior history.
 
It’s almost kind of amazing how TD ruined his own career. Not that he would be a superstar by any means without all of his on-ice and off-ice issues, but a player of his ability generally has a nice career and good money earning potential. Just goes to show you how assholes can hurt themselves

I would. DeAngelo is definitely an agitator but I I don’t think he’s the best fighter. However, I think the isles need what he brings. They’re missing that element without Clutterbuck.

Like, for example, his tiff with Georgiev. Georgiev is a massive headcase and he seems have gotten on the nerves of other teammates since, like Rantanen. TDA may not have been totally in the wrong there.

He’s a right handed offensive defenseman, by far one of the most coveted positions in hockey. Look how many teams he’s played for. He’s 29 years and has been moved 7 times (if you count both seperate Canes stints. Drafted by Tampa though he only played for their AHL team before being traded.)


The NHL isn’t the NBA, teams and players will keep issues between them as much as possible.


There are people in Russia saying the “family” excuse is just that. The Rangers coach after he was traded, said they had prior issues with his attitude when they were making roster decisions (such as minutes and benching him). He said he had warned DeAngelo prior to the Georgiev thing, and that context is why he was sent. Torts wouldn’t explicitly say that, but that’s basically people’s impression of his time late in Philly.


He had rumored issues with Tampa’s AHL team before being sent to the coyotes. He’s been in trouble for giving refs shit in the NHL and in Juniors


I’m pretty sure I’m missing something still, but he seems to have attitude and or anger issues, or something along those lines. Awful defense has been looked past for other similarly skilled defensemen for years.



Personally I’m hoping he hasn’t learned anything and creates drama with Roy and or proves to not be a “Lou player”. Not because I hate him, but I’ve loved all the drama this year lol
