I would prefer Misa or Hagens. If CHI wants Schaefer because they’re already loaded with forwards, would they be interested in swapping picks if they believe SJ would take Schaefer.

Chi takes Schaefer and get a potential franchise defenseman that has the skill to match Bedard and the isles draft whoever is left over at 3rd from Misa or Hagens.

This chart suggests that the price to move up from 2 or three is the somewhere between an 8 or 10 OA fwiw. If one of these teams wants to lock in Schaefer they'll come correct

I’d say our defensive pool is actually better than forward but I’d still take the opportunity to draft Schaefer if you’re giving it away.

Chicago really, really does not need Schaefer, so I doubt you'll get a premium price for him from them.
