Why is this still open when it's demonstrably false? They've lost 7 games in regulation all season and this thread claims that they've lost 9 in regulation while leading in the 3rd.
I know HFB wants to fire every coach after any loss, but team is 10-7-7.lambert's got to be on the hot seat, right? that's inexcusable
Maybe when Trotz was coaching. He left and took the defense with. Surprising since Lambert was with him for so many years. Coaching matters.Really strange since defense and goaltending are supposedly the Isles’ bailiwick.
I mean, having 3 fourth lines has gotta prevent some GA right…right??
It is when you consider the many in which they got here. They give games away and find ways to lose instead of just getting flat out beat. There’s a difference. It’s most definitely a coaching problem. Yes, the team can use more firepower but again they don’t play a winning brand of hockey right now.I know HFB wants to fire every coach after any loss, but team is 10-7-7.
That is not remotely close to firing territory.
Because leafs are allowed to troll the isles. If he had the right numbers it would make it worth discussing because blown leads have been a major issues so far for the isles. Why is this still open when it's demonstrably false? Well, I hear ya. I think both our franchises miss Trotz and his annoying (lol) defensive system. Letting him walk was a historic mistake on our part and wasted any last chance for Ovi and our core to compete.Maybe when Trotz was coaching. He left and took the defense with. There were rumors Barzal wasn’t a fan but also rumors that Trotz was going to go back to Nashville after his contract (1year remaining) and the isles liked lambert. They “fired” Trotz so he could get paid for the year and named Lambert HC rather than lose him.Well, I hear ya. I think both our franchises miss Trotz and his annoying (lol) defensive system. Was it Brazal that wanted him gone in NY, cause he wanted more offense?
Same situation with Reirden after Trotz left DC. Rumors that the players always liked him better and didn’t need Trotz. There were rumors Barzal wasn’t a fan but also rumors that Trotz was going to go back to Nashville after his contract (1year remaining) and the isles liked lambert. All the players seem to love lambert even from his minor league days. I’m sure he’s a great guy but this is the pros they don’t need a best friend they need a guy who knows what he’s doing and knows how to lead them and make them better. Or at the very least a competent coach.
If blown leads are an issue let's talk about that. Again, the thread title is false, the premise is false. It's not debatable. We can all look up the numbers. Why hasn't this been locked?Maybe when Trotz was coaching. He left and took the defense with. Surprising since Lambert was with him for so many years. Coaching matters.

Wildly incorrect, where'd you get your numbers? This has to be some kind of record. I've been watching hockey for a long time and don't remember ever seeing something like this.
Im an isles fan and I don’t mind it being left open. Just change the title I guess to reflect the truth. Either way, it has been a problem it’s fair to discussIf blown leads are an issue let's talk about that. Again, the thread title is false, the premise is false. It's not debatable. They’ve certainly been dreadful, but they don’t have nine regulation losses on the season period, so not sure where these numbers are coming from
Goals for/60: 26th in the NHL
Goals Against/60: 16th in the NHL
Breaking down their D/Goals against:
Shots Against/60: 31st in the NHL
xGA/60: 29th in the NHL
Team save%: 8th in the NHL
The stats say the Isles are a team that cant score, are an absolute tire fire defensively and are being saved by great goaltending from being a laughing stock so far the season.
Is Sorokin really the problem?
Makes sense. Islanders have only 3 wins while trailing. One of the worst comeback teams in the league. So the vast majority of their wins have to come from when they're leading instead. For anyone too lazy to look it up, they are actually 9-1-4 when leading at the start of the 3rd.

That is not remotely close to firing territory.
Btw, 10-7-7 is not a good record. Don't be fooled by NHL's atrocious and misleading point system that arbitrarily creates parity.I know HFB wants to fire every coach after any loss, but team is 10-7-7.

Such a bad and boring team

Yeah, with a 2-or-0 point system they'd be 7th in Metro. It's wild the Isles have 3 more regulation wins than the Leafs. What's going on with them?
Yeah, they're 10-14. Only in the NHL can you be that bad but be in playoff position.
