Sure, but this is a message board where trade rumors are discussed. That's an odd thing for a GM, especially one who is on the hot seat to fans/media, to say about a player he has full control over.

Peterkas agent said on SDPN that he was not aware of any actual trade talks with Peterka and he hasn't talked to Adams in a while.

I think Adams statement is just an acknowledgement of the obvious, that he has to show everyone a path to success here if he wants guys to buy in. Same is true for Byram, McLeod, etc.

This isn't to say Peterka might not be available, but there's no actual evidence that Adam's hand is forced.

I also wonder if that’s why Zetterlund did move.

I feel those are the two targets that would seem more obvious after the blues did the oilers dirty last off season. Bunch of the tsn guys mention we may see more offer sheets due to the blues success - the peterka stuff could be defensive posturing by the Sabres. Now, if they did shop him briefly they know at least some of the teams would may come later this offseason, can defend appropriately knowing what assets those groups have.
