it’s time to stop caring about 1-2 spot differences in draft position at least until sid is done. he had his dark night of the soul after jake was traded, he’ll never win again. but he absolutely wants to be remembered as a guy who at the age of 38 and on who dragged a failing tanking team to wins they never deserved. adding to his legend. just enjoy it, it won’t last that long, and picking 4th instead of 6th really doesn’t mean that much. everyone here is depressed and given up and he’s fighting the entire preds team, getting hacked up, just because that’s who he is

Sometimes winning when you don't want to works out too. Chicago beat us which hurt their draft slot and they won the lottery and got Bedard anyways.

I'm tired of people fretting about draft position as well when whoever they pick is going to be bungled regardless.

I have so little faith in this team's ability to draft and develop that I am legit worried DOC will start scoring in Vancouver when Rick Tocchet shows him some game film that demonstrates that shooting anywhere other than directly at the goalie's pads is actually legal.

I rather enjoy seeing No Neck Barry failing so badly as a GM.

Heinen showing more chemistry with Bunting in one game than Malkin has done all season, pretty weird but I will take it even though Bunting once again can't score at even strength. L1 and EK65 were toying with the Preds defense which admittedly was beyond terrible but still, as much as I have embraced the idea of tanking, it's nice to see some beautiful attacking hockey from the Pens.

I honestly didn't realize Desharnais was even playing which is good for a defensive defenseman.

Since Jarry cleared waivers and was assigned to the AHL, the Penguins as a team are 7th in the NHL in save% with a .917 save%. That's mostly driven by Nedjelkovic's .940 save%, Blomqvist has been a bit mediocre with an .875 save%, but still. Their goaltending completely flipped the instant they got rid of Jarry.

I wonder if jarry ever checks stats and if his ego is strong enough to ignore them

Probably

That ego is the only thing above average with him
His make any excuses necessary game to absolve himself of any blame is rather solid. Probably all-star, nearing hall-of-fame, level.

Yep…
This tells you all you need to know about why players look good here the first couple weeks after they’re acquired and why they turn to shit after that under this coach…the coaching sucks lol…Sullivan’s comment postgame:

“I’ve always been a big believer that when we bring guys into our group, we try to not paralyze them with too much information,” Sullivan said. “We want them to play the game with a free spirit and have the ability to trust their instincts.”

As soon as he gets coaching them, they’re awful lol

This might be Sully's biggest line of bullshit ever, and that's saying a lot.

He's probably already warned Desharnais: "You're a big guy but I damn sure don't want to see any rough stuff out there. Be a puss and 'just play' or you'll be in the press box faster than you can say 'Jack St. Ivany'."
