Please trade Saros before his extension + NMC kicks in. kthanxbye
Serious question. If we think his contract sucks here, who else is going to want to pick it up? Seems like it's possible we'd have to throw in sweeteners just to make such a trade happen.

Objectively, it would be a disaster for Trotz' credibility. Who the hell would want to sign with him if he's going to throw you under the bus when his poorly constructed team stinks up the rink? But on that front, not sure who will sign anyway. Seems like that list has to start trending towards players that just want a big check and don't care much about winning at some point.

Who even are the potential suitors for Saros at this point? I mean not even accounting for his cap hit, the market is slim. Toronto has their goalie, Avs just locked in their starter and the Devils figured out their goalie situation last summer.

I think the most realistic ones are Carolina and Edmonton. But what do those teams even have to offer?

The Saros deal if moved are just like Ellis and Carrier were, it ain't about what you get in return, it's about getting rid of that contract. It doesn't matter what the other team has to offer, you take it and run if you don't want to be saddled with it for 8 years.

Who's going to take that contract on as a favor to Trotz? No one would trade with Trotz for Fabbro, and his contract wasn't even an issue.

We're not getting out of the Saros contract any more than we're going to fire Bruno 25 games ago.

Near where sand and waves meet.
Saros is moveable before July if Trotz decides to go that route. $7.74mil for a legitimate starter is cost effective .... guys like Blackwood are now over $5mil hits ... Swayman goes from a 1B to a higher cap hit. He's still a .903 sv% guy playing behind a team that hemorrhages odd man rushes somehow posting three shutouts. Get him with a coach that remembers how to instill some responsible playing, not Bruno's chaos, and Saros remains in the Vezina discussion.
