UPDATE: Miles Wood Back To The Avs

When I was in sixth grade, my teacher removed the clock from the room and demanded that we students address him as "Chronus, God of Time" if we wanted to know what the time was.

Every time I see Chrona's name, I'm reminded of that.

Yes, that teacher was a lunatic.

Stuff like this is what makes HF Boards so special.

UPDATE: Miles Wood Back To The Avs
Coyle and Wood?

Yes please. But I can't see Columbus giving up Coyle unless it's something like Toews going back?

Colton is one of those guys who looks terrible in the Avs system but consistently puts up Hall of famer level possession stats.

Nashville is getting a steal here. As their GM knows.

Just because he paid him that much doesn’t mean he’s worth it…

He slotted in at 2LW earlier in the season and looked good, but he got injured and wasn’t the same when he came back. He’s too inconsistent to be a long term option in the top 6 IMO and not particularly good at special teams. He could probably be a top 6 on a rebuilding team but for a team with playoff aspirations he’s best suited for a 3rd line energy role that can be good offensively during his hot streaks.

I’ve been wondering how the Avs were going to get someone to help them with a guy like Colton to get some cap space. That’s awfully swell of Nashville to assist them.
A middle six forward at the tail end of his prime making $4MM on a one year deal is a contract that's not negative value. Colton can skate, can hit, goes on odd scoring heaters at times and he's pretty durable.

I didn't think it was worth 2 3rds, but what are two 3rd round picks really worth? Probably not much to GMs.

That's funny, I don't recall seeing Coyle mentioned in my post at all. ;)

(Also, even if Toews was enough, it wouldn't work. Remember, our Norris-level guy isn't a right-shot like Makar.)
Trading for Wood without getting Coyle would be like sitting on the couch watching the Avs get swept while your fiancee makes love to her yoga instructor 10 feet away in the bedroom.

Huh? You mean one has to actually consider the OTHER team's interest in a trade? Oh my G-d my mind is so blown at this revelation.

;)
