The Blackhawks did something similar to this where they blew out all their existing young players. They did get Connor Bedard but they are still really terrible, so it is arguable whether it was a good idea.

Perhaps, the Preds think these kids are part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

For a split second, my brain thought this was sort of ancient bump and Ondrej Pavelec was back.

Anyway...Trotz as a GM doesn't seem to be working that well.

I’ll say it again - the Nashville prospect system is absolutely still flush with another wave of talent…probably a better wave. Tons of first rounders who have progressed nicely on the way or already getting some games (plus three more 1sts in the 2025 draft). They do a great job developing talent in Milwaukee. The concern would be what happens when these guys are ready to be NHL regulars. How does Brunette and the NHL staff put them into positions to be successful? Or are we just going to keep repeating this cycle? Who’s next to get their value tanked? Novak? Evangelista? Looks like that’s kind of already happening…
I am fine subcontracting to a more competent scouting department.

Personally, id say the blame sits with Brunette for leaving him in when he shouldve pulled him after the 2nd goal. Bad coaching decision there.

I was thinking the same. Props to the Preds for fighting back. I think they played the better overall game, at least the final 40 minutes.

At the risk of sounding like im defending Trotz(and Im not, because I think all of these players could have been much better and contributed this year and in the future had they been properly coached) but they were all 23 to 26 and had topped out based on how they were being played and we do have some younger guys(L'Heureux, Svechkov, Kimmel, Schaeffer) who need spots in the next year or so and Wood, Edstrom and Surin after them. So i understand the logic based on how they are being utilized(ie improperly or not at all) by our dipshit coach, I just hate that it came to this and hope every one of them has the opportunity to give Bruno and Trotz the finger in the future
