I was starting to wonder during the period when Matthews was out if the Leafs should consider trading HIM for pieces, and now I'm around 99% positive. He can dominate when he wants to, but too often he chooses not to. And when he's playing like this he's dragging down all the players around him.

That loss, although a team non-effort is kind of on Berube. That was as bad or worse than anything Keefe ever conjured up.

The Leafs have been piss-poor the last 4 games, 5 if you go back to that almost fail in Tampa.

Beat Chicago because it sucks to suck. Beat Nashville because they had 5 good minutes and the last two losses.

Matthews needs to look at Sid, the greatest player of the last 25 years; his motor is always running, he's not playing sit and wait.
