Parkway Drive was the headliner, but they had a couple other Metalcore style bands with them. (Miss May I, Thy Art Is Murder, In Hearts Wake)

It kicked ass, but man I forgot how wild LA crowds can get

I saw parkway almost ten years ago in a tiny sports complex. Entry was $5. It was an alcohol free event. I left the building with one shoe, half a shirt and a black eye

Do you need an armour for metal concerts in US?:help:

Man I would've loved to see them during the Killing With a Smile days, the only song they played off it was Romance Is Dead. Not to say all their present day stuff isn't great, Parkway is one of the few bands that I've loved every album they have put out.

But luckily I've never lost my shoes or shirt  roughest night for me was losing a hat, breaking my glasses, and biting through my lip

It probably wouldn't be the worst idea in the world  I got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer and my head has felt like scrambled eggs since.

I learned very quickly not to get involved deep in pits at metal/hardcore shows here in LA when I first started going to shows. Besides, given my frame(5'6", 130 lbs. Pretty much built like a 14 year old boy even though I'm 23) and my crap knee that likes to hyper-extend and dislocated itself randomly, I'd rather not risk it. I usually like to stand by the edge of it, catch people; push them back in.

Yeah I've become the same way, I'll try the pit maybe once and just stand on the edge the rest of the show and maybe do something special like a circle pit or wall of death but I can't mosh the entire show like I could in high school, it catches up with the body real quick

I remember Lisa Gleave above all else. All my relatives loved that show and would have it on at family functions. They were curious why I always showed up in sweat pants. :naughty:

Besides Ron and myself, are there any other multilingual speakers in real life?
Yours truly...German and English...but can do a little Italian as well...

That kettle is giving me more practice than I thought...even though the German was stating that I was slipping through about three different dialects for a while there...

There are millions of multilingual speakers on this planet.

Also **** physics. ****. Physics.

The big grey baggy sweat pants?

Welcome back. You were quite the hiatus.

I'm not happy to report this...but there are thieves posing as Salvation Army personnel in the Las Vegas area... Luckily they haven't hit my spot...but they've nailed the eastern portions from the LV Citadel territory including six on the eastern part of my supervisor's route (two locations account for five of those nine lost kettles AND stands)... Heck...half of those areas I wouldn't want to enter without at least a whip and a chair...

As a precaution...they're relieving the ringers earlier than usual... Since I have the earliest start time...mine is the first to get relieved... Since I know the entire supervisory crew this year...I just have to get the call in to not only the corps...but Metro as well...when I see anything suspicious going on...kettle-wise...

Leave it to my Smith's to put up a fruitcake display near the door when I make cracks about them (on windy days)... If you haven't heard them...the jokes are "Do you have a fruitcake I can borrow so I can weigh down this stand???"...OR "If this wind picks up...I'm going to need a fruitcake to weigh down this stand!!!"... You have to thank a certain Major for inspiring the fruitcake jokes...
