IMO Laine has taken another nose dive in his play of late, he's too slow for the first line and he's back to not moving his feet, and he still sucks in the Jets own zone, that being said he was terrific over the first 10 games of the season, guess with all the excitement of a hefty contract!

Ya Laine wasn't great yesterday but i'll allow it as long as he doesn't do that often . He has played very good for most of the season though .

If you haven't noticed the Wheeler/Scheifele critiques you are simply not paying attention. But here is the difference:
Laine has been set up for failure on these boards by his own Uberfans.
You don't see thousands of posts in dedicated Scheifele/Wheeler threads or outlandish claims that they are generational players. Every over-the-top claim about Laine leads to an equal and opposite counterclaim, over and over again.
It's actually really boring--I wish it would all go away and I'm sure Laine himself feels similarly. He seems much more balanced than all the rhetoric he generates.

Totally agree ... that's the problem. You could use any young player in any sport the more you praise him the more people will point out the mistakes he makes even if they are minor. Until he gets that ring and has the stats over his career ... they will be criticized if you put them on a pedestal.

Good luck. I don't know which ignored poster you are conversing with, but if you are trying to find a post of me supporting the hire of PoMo good luck. I can assure you I didn't like the hire the second it was announced and feel free to find my posts from that time period. This forum is hilarious. At the beginning of the season we knew that Dallas would be one of the top teams in our division. Not a surprise we lost, still a very good game. We need to upgrade our D to really compete. Nevertheless, we've had many things go well for us this season.
Roslovic's growth has been a nice surprise. Ehlers and Laine are both much better but that was predictable. Helly returning to form is very nice. This isn't the positivity thread just pointing out that we have had many things go well for us and no one really expected us to compete this season so we can't be too upset about the loss.

It's true most mistakes and pivotal moments are a result of everyone on the ice not just one guy. We often forget that. It's just interesting that so many people jump to protect Laine while no other players get that same level of support.

Probably because Poolman was coming around the net on the right side, Connor and Scheifele were in their left wing and centre positions, and Poolman thought Laine on RW could handle a simple outlet pass to begin a breakout.

Connor i don't know but Scheif was trying to get up off the ice after getting plastered by Benn .

Scheif and Wheels threads aren't even really active. They just get ripped in every GDT and PDTs for 'selfish' things like scoring empty-net points and taking a lot of ice-time.

Add in the extreme hyperbole present most of the time on the internet, and bingo! you have extreme swings of the pendulum. Same with almost any discussion.
