Well then I can do without xigon's "observations" then.

Especially when they don't reflect actual impact on the ice.

It goes back to the tired old "eye test" BS and things are not just based on that anymore.

There is more nuance now.

I thought bratt was fine yesterday, nice take a hit to make a play 1st assist. Was a bit quiet but had some nice defensive plays that actually mattered. I remember one on McKinnon.

Jack's line with Bratt has been good.

But all of a sudden, Jack disappears and it's BRATT'S FAULT?? GTFO OF HERE WITH THAT. (and I mean that in general, not directed at you, Whaddagoal)

there’s no way they break up the nico line at this point so we’ll see what timo can do with hughes and bratt. he seems perfect for that line anyway, it’s exactly what they need and sharangovich just isn’t quite on their level

I swear....some here just look for reasons to sh*t on players just because they can.
People needs to have someone to bully on. If we will compare Bratt, Wood, Sharangovich, Severson and even Bahl/Smith with players of the same roles from other teams, we will find out that our players are not so bad. VV now just has cold streak. Cmon, Tatar was walking disaster full previous year, but now he is tremendous complimentary forechecker. And he wasn't really good few weeks this season. Everybody have option to slow down little bit because of depth.

Don't worry, Glen, Bratt is good. Very good. Sometimes he isn't the first force but I don't see a big need for that. I like when he sometimes just making his job and when the situation is asking for more, he adding wheels and bams - we have a goal that wasn't expected from the pace of the game.

We are third team in the league and just add Timo Meier. Other players could walk away this summer if their are going UFA, someone should, but we need all of them this spring and I hope this summer.

P.S. the only one who really deserve criticism, is sleeping on the hospital bed in the moment.

I think Xigon still likes Bratt here, too. I only know of 1 or 2 dedicated Bratt detractors here.

We all love Bratt.......................(assuming he re-signs with us :sarcasm::sarcasm:)

Honestly they didn't do that bad last night, they had plenty of scoring chances. The problem was that Rango had all the scoring chances and screwed it up. Meier is putting those in the back of the net. He missed a great chance to make it 6-3 by simply lifting the puck, Avs took the puck and made it 5-4 10 seconds later

Having a third line with Sharangovich palat and haula will be a pretty strong 3rd line. Palat will absolutely beast on weaker D pairings.

Meh, Palat is slow and doesn't deserve 6mil, we should sign Gaudreau for 10 mil in the moment, it would help to trade for Meier anyway, Sharangovich is sh1t bag and who cares that bolts, avs, leafs, canes etc don't have really better 6th producing forward, and haula can't score and we should save Zacha, who cares about 200 foot game and defensive game.

People need someone to bully.

I just realized that Boqvist is odd man out again, unless they sit Rango or a 4th liner. Ah well. Poor Boqy hes playing well.

Shara may actually be the one to sit, at least at first. He looked bad last night, and he is going to be replaced by Meier on the Hughes line.

He's on one of his cold streaks, which means he might not give us much from the third line, whereas Boqvist might.

Wood and Shara are the weak links to me…the former being not very good anymore and the latter not fitting into a proper role anymore. If either could be replaced with a guy who’s better suited for that third line grit role it would make this team one of the most well rounded in the league.

I'm sure Wood bought himself some more PP time and cemented the BMW line never getting broken up by scoring last night.

But honestly, I still think he's the one who should sit. The fourth line should be Boqvist-McLeod-Bastian.

It was pretty clear last night who was weaker, I ain't defending Wood but he was a lot better last night. He was responsible for 3 or 4 goals we scored. Even if not producing offensively, if he skates and forechecks the way he did last night, he should not be sitting at the expense of Rango

I keep seeing people clamoring for Henrique. I was in that boat a few months ago but it was probably more nostalgia than anything. He’s currently injured and approaching his mid 30’s. Can he even keep up with the pace this team plays at? The more I’ve thought about it the more it seems he’s actually not that good of a fit.

The PP time will eventually stop with Wood once Meier gets in the lineup, but his play of late definitely has him playing in the playoffs

I would play Boqvist over Sharangovich at this point. Maybe there's a trade we can make around Sharangovich before the deadline
Was spitballing yesterday that something around Sharangovich for Henrique (with retention) could be an interesting option. Rebuilding team gets younger, Devils get similar tier veteran player for playoffs.

Or something similar if you target a forward signed through next year that you would pay Sharangovich less than he would on his next contract.

It just doesn’t seem like Fitz wants to mess with the core of this team though, even as teams seem to be wheeling and dealing to revamp their rosters.

And I'm fine with that if he can provide some depth scoring, add some energy/grit, and not do anything stupid.

But unfortunately, Wood is not really capable of the "not do anything stupid" thing. I'm worried it will cost us at a bad time in the playoffs. Those dumb icings last night are a good example.
