Devils completely shut down a Stanley cup contender who had all the momentum in the third period. This was a great win. You have to be able to skin the cat multiple ways.

111 is the record with the 2000-2001 should be champions. They piled it on late going 19-2 in their last 21 games. Curiously one of the losses was to NYR (who we never lost to back then) where we outshot them 41-19, so just awful luck in that one and Brodeur wasnt at his best

Funny part is I actually thought the team played a decent game. I mean you are gonna give up changes against Colorado and I’d argue they gave up less super high danger ones than quite a few other games, but maybe I’m wrong.

Vanecek STUNK tonight, no doubt.
But Blackwood has absolutely no future here and Schmid has shown this year that he does.
Maybe he becomes a dud in a couple more years, just like Blackwood has?
But this isn't about Blackwood anymore, it's about not sending back a goalie that's clearly no worse than the second best goalie in the organization (Blackwood is the third) and has potential to be the best goalie in the organization.
