Kennedy is a big right shot physical stay at home defenceman with a lot of grit. He defends the rush well and does a good job of keeping players to the outside. Good skater, not elite but slightly above average. Plays a hard physical game and can get under opponents skin. Great stick, good defensive awareness. Not a lot of offensive upside, has a hard and heavy shot but rarely uses it. He’s a good guy to put with an offensive D man, will hang back and cover the gaps. He’s 6’5”, a little lanky but still throws big hits. Not a top pairing guy on a good team, but a great middle pairing option. Very well spoken as an individual as well, seems to be a good teammate and intelligent guy, interviews very well.
Wilson (if you’re wondering) is also a big body at 6’5”. More of a two way Dman. Has the size but is still figuring out how to use all of it. He’s not afraid to play physical but his defensive awareness is lacking sometimes. Good skater, but not elite. Will drop the gloves and likes to stir the pot. Little more offensive upside than Kennedy and isn’t afraid to shoot the puck, decent shot but not elite. Balanced D man but still young and developing, good 3rd pairing option, plenty of room to grow.
