LOL he came out to Doug and the Slugs.
hahaha I LOVE how he annoyed Walters and Behar.
Oh my re both Cosby and Clinton.
That was great
Barbara Walters is an award-winning journalist...

The fact that she immediately shut down Norm when he said Clinton killed someone, instead of, ya know, doing anything journalistic in the form of a follow-up question, is a pretty good indicator about her integrity as a newsperson, and the integrity of the mainstream media in general

...You think a comedian promoting his sitcom is going to break some inside information about the President of the United States on a morning TV talk show? And THAT's what journalists do? And are required to do 24/7?

If you don't get it already, I don't think much would be gained from explaining it to you

Yeah, pretty sure:

A: People can fill different roles at different times.
B: It is not a journalists responsibility to believe all people at all times, nor give them a platform to say whatever they want.
C: Norm Macdonald is not a primary source of information for Bill Clinton murdering someone.
D. If somehow, miraculously, Norm Macdonald did have this information, he should still be vetted to prove how he has this information before "publishing" it over the airwaves.

Any journalist/reporter worth a damn is always looking for the truth in a story, and would've wanted clarification about what Norm was talking about. Instead, we got Barbara actively hushing him up

Joy's reaction was genuine, and she immediately sought clarification, but she quickly fell in line

Was Hannibal a primary source for Bill Cosby's rape allegations? Jeez, I sure hope not!

And if you're in Norm's position with information about Bill Clinton murdering someone, do you think it's best to mention it ahead of time and give them the chance to cancel your segment/and or alert "them" to have you killed?

Journalism takes time and vetting and verification. And then more time and vetting and verification. You can't do that on live TV. And there was only 21 years following for any journalist on earth to talk to him and justify his claims. It was Barbara's actions here that kept him silenced!

But yeah, we should just go with option B and let every crackpot on TV to say whatever they want whenever they want without needing to back it up. THAT is the true heart of journalism!

Maybe Norm would've been able to back it up... a real journalist would've made that inquiry

This has already taken up more of my time than I would've liked, so that's all I'm going to say on the matter

Please, pant me a picture. How would ANY journalist be able to verify that he is backing it up on live TV?

The need to see secret "Truth" and imaginary media conspiracies in a comedy bit is a reflection on you, not the actual subject.

Comedians don't break stories.

Thread has taken a turn from the last time I read it.

On subject, still often watch old clips of Norm pretty regularly. Unbelievable how much his delivery could impact even weak sauce jokes.

You're arguing with the same guy who thinks drinking and driving should be legal because that's what real freedom is.

Walters did it cause he pulled it out of his ass. Kinda like an early Trumper/Q guy.
And I loved Norm.
Btw, you still in to getting hammered up & driving?

Imagine seeing a video from 20 years before Norm died and thinking he was one Barbara Walters question away from exposing a vast presidential conspiracy. Real shame she didn’t ask though. It was the only time Norm was willing to tell the story.

Imagine reading someone's comments about Norm exposing a vast presidential conspiracy, and being unable to realize that their tongue is firmly in cheek

Yet that same someone was upset and childlike that a Journalist didnt give him the opportunity to expose the vast conspiracy.

Comedians love to pounce on tabloid rumours. In some cases it's total bullshit. In this case the rumours about Bruce Jenner were out there for years and turned out to be accurate. Fair game for Seth McFarlane, who did what he always does – gets a laugh, no matter who he offends.
