Non-Sharks Bay Area Sports Thread XXVIII

I’d much rather be in the Sharks position than that of the 49ers.

Being reliant on a turning 37 in July Trent Williams and Christian McCaffery that was extremely lucky he didn’t tear his Achilles last year portends for another bad season.

Easier to sell hope. But sharks will be hard pressed to match the run the Niners were on the past 5 or 6 years when their club hits their prime. 2 Super Bowls, another 2 nfc title games in 5 seasons.

Niners losing a lot in free agency. Only benefit is that it will get them some comp picks (3 max) on all of the guys they’ve lost depending on if they sign anyone to net out the comp picks.
And only those whose deals expired are part of the equation not anyone who got cut.

Wooohoo March Madness. Go Zags!

Found a Philly cheesesteak bar in London that will be showing games. Let's see if I can beat Friedman's deadline day screentime over the next 48 hours! My favorite two days of the year.

That is all.

For over a decade the West Coast Conference had three tourney-worthy schools in its membership - BYU, Gonzaga, and Saint Mary's.

BYU moved to the Big 12 last season, Gonzaga is joining the Pac-12 in 2026, and I think Saint Mary's should also move to the Pac-12. The WCC is heading towards one-bid league status, and Saint Mary's should make every effort to keep the Gonzaga rivalry a conference one.
