The so-called "spear" by Kessel was nothing more than a tap. No suspension for that. I have no problem with Kessel not wanting to fight with Scott but the second slash he gives him after Scott is already engaging someone else should probably get a a game or two. And the goalie fight was kinda pointless, but it's all in good fun I guess.

Feel bad for Tropp in the first fight though. Hope he's not seriously injured or has any concussion problems after that.

By the way, there was no penalty on the play. And some Jokerit-fans are actually saying it was a clean hit, and Karalahti had his hands down. Yeah, no.

If not an elbow, he at least had his hands up before the contact. The hit was directed at the upper body, whether it was chest, throat or head is unclear but he should receive anything from 3 to 6 games, if recent Liiga suspensions are anything to go by.

Of course there's the Helsinki Team -extra and for that borderline hit there's also the Karalahti -media extra. Also the High Visibility Player -extra so it's probably 25 games. This is why I don't watch that ****ing shinny league anymore. Bring on the KHL already.

He got 4 games. Completely fair, imo.

Feel bad? He jumped the other guy. But concussion problems shouldn't be wished on anyone. So, yea.

And Kessel got a match penalty, which is an automatic, so he will get at least 1.

Bouchard was a victim of Shanaban being new to the job and overly eager. He wouldn't be suspended for the same thing today.

Actually, many people didn't even want to risk a cheap 1 yr deal, they wanted his expensive qualifying contract. The venom towards the Wild started when they didn't give him the qualifying offer.

I was an advocate for the Wild walking away, but wasn't "against" a cheap 1 yr prove it contract if it happened. Wasn't upset one bit when he became someone else's problem and in hind sight...I'm more than satisfied.

Didn't Gui say that he wouldn't accept a 1 year deal, and that his preference was to play closer to his daughter?

I wanted them to qualify him because the Wild had nothing else going for them. Didn't think they'd land Parise and Suter though.

Pretty much this.

I can't remember if it was he wouldn't accept a 1 year deal more than wanting to play closer to his daughter.

He actually said he'd take a cheap 1 year deal, but he chose Ottawa because he wanted to be closer to his daughter.

Only hoodwinked if you wanted to keep him. I said we should just walk away, cut the losses and move on and sign Parise and Suter. I was called crazy. :sarcasm: ;)
