Seahawks game last night was entertaining, and specifically had me entertaining thoughts of what it might have looked like with a healthy defense.
Big picture, 3-1 is kind of where I had them through 4 games. Have NYG, SF, LAR, Buf, and ATL before their bye week. Think they need to show that they can split with SF. Back to back years since Russ left they've been swept by SF plus a PO loss.

Home game vs SF first, so that's a game they have to take. But, both clubs have battled injuries in Q1 of the season, so see how healthy both clubs are going into that TNF matchup. At a minimum they get to their bye week at 6-3. Ideally 7-2.

I currently have McCaffrey, Samuel, and Jennings on my fantasy football team, so it's a guarantee that they will underperform in both games.

Both clubs struggling. SF if they lose would drop to 2-4 and would have lost all 3 games vs the NFC west. SEA trying to avoid a 3 game losing streak. Got hit by the trap game coming off EST on MNF and before the big game vs SF.

Both need a win. Seattle needs to figure out how to run the ball better early in games. Need that balance while the DL recovers from injuries. Seattle getting run on badly without their starters.

Yikes. 3-3.
Trenches are really hurting and not performing. No run game on O early and no run D.
Can't rely that much on Geno to throw. Need to be able to run the ball.

No Murphy really shows the past 3 games.

ATL, Buf, LAR before bye week.
SF, AZ, NYJ, AZ, GB, Min, Chi, LAR to close after the bye week.

Are there 7 wins in there to secure 10-7. If finish at 9-8 it comes down to tie breakers. 2022 they were on the right end of it. 2023 they were not.

I've always liked Geno Smith's game going back to the NYJ. He's one of those guys who figured out how to play in the NFL. He's smart, dynamic and a great example of the modern quarterback. It took a minute, but that's okay. I had faith in him.

Monster game for SEA this weekend vs Rams. Have to defend home field vs divisional opponents. Bye week after this. Have to get to 5-4 before the bye.

After the bye week, have 2 vs AZ, then still have SF, LAR both on the road. Have Chicago on road, GM and Min at home and then the Jets as well. Like the last 2 seasons, WC3 was 9-8 but SEA got in one year and missed the next because of the tie breaker. 10-7 pretty much gets you in without relying on tie breakers.

Those H2H vs the NFC North are going to be huge for tie breakers if SEA does end up in the WC mix in the end.

Geno has patience. I love that. It shows confidence, especially with good blocking. He’s matured and is one of those underrated NFL success stories.

How about them Cougs!!!

I expect them to Coug it, but it’s fun watching them defecate on 9/10 of the defectors.

I’m not a football guy, but I’m a Coug and I’ll loathe every last 2023 Pac-12 school except Oregon State for the remainder of my life in every sport. Though I’ll still cheer the NW schools over the SEC and Big 10… but only them… they can lose to Weber State for all I care.

Would not be surprised if Seattle hand the reigns to Howell coming out of the break . 4-5. And have lost 2 divisional games at home. Howell is under contract next season on the final year of his rookie deal. Not going to pay Geno $40 mill. Need to improve the trenches.

The 3 teams currently in WC spots have 6 wins already. Seattle does play min and GB but still.

What a game by the Seahawks!

That D is doing a much better job containing the running game, trading for (edit: Ernest) Jones was brilliant imo. Credit where it's due, Kittle is a monster and not having to play against him helped.

Geno isn't perfect, but he's good enough if the other pieces are there. Still feels good when he wins a big one like today.

Hawks needed to prove that they could beat SF without Russ. Who was 17-4 vs the Niners. Sea was 0-6 since til yesterday.

Seahawks look like they may have turned the corner at least defensively. The Rams and 49ers usually torch our defense and we kept them relatively in check. Felt like a statement win given we haven't eaten the 49ers in years. If we beat the Cardinals next week we might have a shout at the division. Our remaining schedule isn't horrific whereas the 49ers looks hellish and the Rams doesn't look great either.

Atrocious. And just when it looked like the D had found their stride enough to allow us to catch up, Geno went out. I do think Howell can play better given some repetition, but damn that was ugly.
