Darnold has been Ponderesque the past two games. Even when he completes a pass it's been off the mark, so the receivers can't catch it in stride.

Vikings just barely won all season, so I was suspicious, but still, they won. The secondary looks like they can't cover anyone, and the O line was mediocre once Darrisaw went out, but they had a lot of good players, also. Just can't win in the playoffs unless you have a good QB, unless you have a crazy good defense, and MN's is not that. Darnold showed his true colors at the end of the season when it mattered.

Sure hope JJ turns out to be something. So far, it looks like a vg QB class.

GB... started off their game horribly, and it's tough when you're best receivers aren't playing. Love is better than Darnold, for sure, but he needs to keep improving. Sure seems that his receivers drop a lot of catchable balls, though.

I think the LIons were one of the best teams in the league, but all those injuries have killed their chance for a SB.

I'm not sure that's the right conclusion, since the top three teams' records outside of the division were 9-2 (Detroit), 10-1 (MN), and 10-1 (GB).

Those other losses were to Tampa Bay (division winner), Buffalo (powerhouse), LA Rams (division winner), and Philly (powerhouse). The only loss period to a team with less than 10 wins was the Packers losing to the Bears in Week 18.

Green Bay, due to their record in-division, was simply stuck facing a better team. Minnesota watched their QB who was known for turning into a pumpkin, actually turn into a pumpkin the last two weeks of the year. Detroit has had a million injuries like mentioned above.

I don't really know what to make of all of that.

Another let down at the end of a good season. Man, it's really hard to be a Minnesota sports fan.

In a way, we can be thankful for the pitiful performances that Darnold had in his final two games here. Should leave no doubt in the minds of the Viking management that he should not be re-signed.
JJ is another question mark ...we'll see. When was the last time MN had a franchise QB? Favre, all too briefly, when he was older. Culpepper, again, briefly. I think the only one, really , was Tarkenton, and that was 50 years ago. We're due.

We need someone in the secondary who can actually cover a receiver, too.
