Would i keep Darnold for 4 or 5 years at 35-40 million? Sorry im a little confused.

Maybe if theres an out after a year or two so JJ can eventually start.

To me it comes down to me completely trusting KOC when it comes down to the QB position and fully expect him to be able to develop JJ into a competent QB.

EDIT: Or are you asking me if Vegas offered 4OA for JJ would i trade him away and keep Darnold at that price?
Yes.

oh thats difficult. I like the hypothetical though. I honestly dont know because i like JJ, i just dont like him enough to where i would of spent a top 10 pick on him so getting a top 5 pick for him is very interesting.

Bit of a cop out but Id probably wanna know a little more about this upcoming draft class before i made that decision dunno what it looks like at our position of needs like IOL, CB, and DL. It really depends if theres a cant miss blue chip prospect at one of those positions, if there is a might do it. I stopped paying attention to college ball this year because soccer took over.

I do like Carson Beck a lot, the QB outta Georgia. He caught my eye 2 years or so ago. Dude throws a real pretty ball. I might do it then just draft him at 4OA and kick the QB rookie contract down the road for a year or two and make sure theres an out in Darnolds contract after a couple years.

And this is coming from someone who is a Sam Darnold fan and have been defending him for years. When everyone was calling him a bum or a bust i was there saying id like to see him in a succesful situation.

That would be way too high. He has been pretty meh this year.

Looking at a mock, there were 3 DLs and a CB (other than Hunter) in the top 7-8. Only 2 QBs in the 1st round. I wonder with that, if we could even get the #4 + more.

Would it? iirc this time last year people were talking about him as a potential top pick in this years draft. I also think Michigan has a pretty good DL player as well. White guy with an arm tattoo. Dunno where hes going to go

I'm showing us as the 6th most cap space in 2025.

I'm very curious about Darnold. NYG and Vegas are probably going to draft QBs. Does he really want to go play in the disasters that are New Orleans and Tennessee? I get the generational wealth thing, but man, I'd have to say that him taking less to stay here wouldn't surprise me in the least.
I think Darnold ends up with the Rams. Stafford is going to retire soon

Depending on how the season ends, of course, but why wouldn't the Vikes Franchise him?

Also, if GB wins out, and MN loses both games, who has home field if they play one another?

Colts. AR might be on the outs.
If true i wouldnt mind the Vikings picking him up and trying to develop him at all. The Vikings were going after him his draft year. But i could also see a decent amount of teams thinking the same thing.

I dont think people know how many holes were going to have on our defense next year.

Shaq Griffin, Stephon Gilmore, Cam Bynum and Byron Murphy all are FAs after this year. Harrison Smith might retire. Josh Metellus and Jalen Redmond need a new deals. Jerry Tillery, Jonathan Bullard, Pat Jones and Jihad Ward are also all FAs after this year. And thats also not mentioning Aaron Jones as well. We could alos use an upgrade in the IOL.

This is why i still dont think we keep Darnold. Weve got a lot of holes and using half our projected cap space on a QB doesnt seem ideal.

A large chunk of my buddies are colts fans and are split on if they should keep him. I think he is way too young (22) to give up on and I specifically told a couple to please not do that because Minnesota would likely pick him up and turn him into Cam Newton 2.0. Young raw quarterbacks feast when given great offensive coaches (KOC, LaFleur, etc). Tennessee made Malik Willis look awful and traded him to GB for a 7th. Malik Willis saved GB’s season while Love was out injured and looked great in doing so.

I think GB gets home field. Head to head would be 1-1. Division record both 3-3. Common opponents, GB beat the Rams while Minnesota lost. GB’s only non NFC North loss is to Philly, whom Minnesota didn’t play. Both teams have wins against SF, Houston, Indy, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, and Seattle.

5 of those guys are going to cost $10-$12 million total. The draft will replace another 2. 2-3 would still be able to get decent contracts.

Any of you guys familiar with buying the ticket package for next year's WJC but then reselling most of the games? I'd only be able to attend two days worth...unsure if it would make sense to buy the package and then sell (not trying to make money, just recoup cost) most of the games, or wait until single game tickets are available and hope I could snag some for a reasonable price.

Vikings need to stop Jacobs. If the can’t Packers win.

All I’ve seen so far is ticket packages for the whole tournament. Xcel lower level or club level is going for $2700 per ticket.

That is all I have seen so far as well - I haven't lived in MN in 12 years or had tickets for any sports teams in that time so unsure if all the tickets will be bought and resold for more...
