If a guy saw the start to that game and had negative opinions on it I would think something is wrong with him in all honesty. Best athletes in hockey deciding to throw punches for their country to start the match, that's awesome. It's peak entertainment, how can you not enjoy it?

Contrived - artificial, forced, lacking spontaneity.

Given guys were going around asking in the warm up, I think that fits the definition.
Are you willing to take one of those "contrived" punches they were throwing?

I'm saying there was nothing spontaneous about them. Of course I'm going to defend myself, but that wasn't the topic proposed in the OP.

I graduated High School and I've only ever heard the use of the word "contrive" in a couple of Seether songs.

(it means "pointless" btw)
It doesn't which is an indictment of your p-12 education.

I'll save you looking up "indictment", as I'm going for use case #2 from Oxford Dictionary. "a thing that serves to illustrate ..."

A lot of people are turned off by violence and a lot people think it’s exciting. As far as non-hockey people go You’ll probably get some new fans and you’ll probably get some that never will take hockey seriously again. The way it’s always been

You're conflating "Concordant" with "Contrived"

Obviously those fights had more in common with UFC than WWE.
No I'm not, I'm just not a nerd who cares whether or not the fights were planned. They were real punches, it was entertaining. If you find something to complain about with them then you're thinking too hard about them.
