Relative to the leagues they played in, I think Kane was faster. The fact that you think Kane was any faster than Bedard when he came into the league tells me all I need to know. He wasn’t.

Believe what you want. That’s fine. But (imo) Boudreau’s comments reveal what the league knows about Bedard.
No he wasnt. Bedards fastest recorded speed last year was 22,47 mph and fastest guy was 24 mph. So there isnt that big of a difference. Bedard can motor if he wants to, also he is 19 so plenty of strenght training to do and gain.Relative to the leagues they played in, I think Kane was faster.
Kane was definitely faster with the puck through the neutral zone. Bedard doesn’t push defenders off the blue line like Kane. Kane couldn’t shoot like Bedard. Boudreau’s comments might be different is Bedard was on wing, where he’d get more space to use his shot? His shot is his best weapon, imo.Relative to the leagues they played in, I think Kane was faster.
No he wasn’t. Like I am not sure what else to tell you. Kane got faster as he got older and stronger. He did not have great speed when he entered the league. I am honestly shocked that this even needs to be explained to you.Kane was definitely faster with the puck through the neutral zone. Bedard doesn’t push defenders off the blue line like Kane. Again, believe what you want. There is (imo) a clear separation between Kane attacking with puck on stick through the neutral zone and Bedard in the same circumstance. Kane forced defenders to back in; Bedard doesn’t.No he wasn’t. Like I am not sure what else to tell you. Kane got faster as he got older and stronger. Disagree. You don't even have the data from Kane's era.No he wasnt. Bedards fastest recorded speed last year was 22,47 mph and fastest guy was 24 mph. So there isnt that big of a difference. Bedard can motor if he wants to, also he is 19 so plenty of strenght training to do and gain.

Well first off all I don't really think a player's measured top speed is necessarily that indicative of their playing speed. So are you suggesting that Kane was faster that todays fastest guys at 24 mph?? At 24 Bedard would be little over 1 mph slower that the best which isnt that much of a difference. Also Kane got faster when he became older and stronger. So can Bedard.
Well first off all I don't really think a player's measured top speed is necessarily that indicative of their playing speed.
Secondly, my point was that the NHL in 2008 was much slower than it is today, making Kane's speed that much faster on a relative basis.
Of course we have Whiskey galloping in on his white horse to defend the honour of [any player being compared to Bedard].Relative to the leagues they played in, I think Kane was faster.
Agreed, he's definitely not slow. I think Kane is probably a bit quicker with the puck but doesn't have Bedard's shot.Bedard has one of the best IQ in the game like Kane. Both have amazing hands. Bedard plenty fast enough like Kane but neither true burner like McDavid. So there is nothing suggesting he is slow or cant play fast. Its more about changing speeds and learning what you can get away with. He is 19.
Thanks for your contributionOf course we have Whiskey galloping in on his white horse to defend the honour of [any player being compared to Bedard].

Bedard has incredible vision, really underrated aspect of his game.Remember that Kane wasnt Kane until after couple of years. Bedard is still 19 so not finished product. Plenty of development to be gained. Also a better supporting cast will help as opponents cant just focus on Bedard only or if they will he will punish them by feeding linemates. Bedard is very good playmaker, too bad linemates arent up to par.
Bedard was a higher PPG player in junior leagues and in international play than McDavid. So why wouldn't generational be in play for him ?Does generational talent not mean a “once in a generation” type of player? How many generational talents can you have at once? McDavid is certainly one.
The petty haters don't like to see them. Twice Mcdavids PPG ? Don't show that!Motion to ban @Brookbank for repeatedly applying 2+ year old junior stats to present day NHL
What records did Crosby set in junior? Also, the only record I’m aware of for McDavid is most individual awards by an OHL player with 5…but some of the awards are somewhat obscure as well…not necessarily pointing to great hockey play.I mean dominate and break records at the junior club and international level. Breaking records that generational NHL players set in junior. This is the reason why Crosby and McDavid were hyped as hall of famers before they played an NHL game. Or were you downright skeptical of both of them too ?
And he's still nowhere near McDavid in terms of NHL ability. The petty haters don't like to see them. Twice Mcdavids PPG ? Don't show that!
Because we are talking NHL and not juniors.Bedard was a higher PPG player in junior leagues and in international play than McDavid. So why wouldn't generational be in play for him ?

Think of how good Bedard would be with a PRE prime Duncan Keith.I mean, Patrick Kane was much better than Bedard has been thus far.
Believe what you want. That’s fine. But (imo) Boudreau’s comments reveal what the league knows about Bedard.
I try to not talk about Davidson because lots on the Blackhawks board are totally buying into the kool-aid. I do believe Kane wanted to come back to the Blackhawks based on what he has said to the media and Davidson wanted to move away from him. That's fine, and I have accepted that, but like most people on here have already said (that arent Hawks fans) is that Bedard really has no one with great talent to learn from on this team. I think that if the Hawks did bring back Kane you would see a totally different person (in Bedard) here today. Good or Bad.
also. I think there is this weird part of me that feels that this is not my Blackhawks team until Bedard makes it his own, because I really cant get behind most of these players (that have been brought in besides Teuvo) because I know they are just band aids and stopgaps.
