That is the correct number of centers, all good teams should aim for atleast 6 on the active roster and 7 that they are comfortable with playing in the NHL.Kind of weird considering we have like 6 (now 7) centers on the roster
Posted this in today's GDT, but it also fits here:
My guess: He's called up for the Colorado game on the 16th. It's the one point where the Condors and Oilers overlap, as the Condors will be nearby for their matches on the 14th and 15th.
He sits that night (3 games in 3 nights is a bad idea), but suits up in Vancouver and is settled in with team by the time they get back to Edmonton for their 6 game homestand and a ton of practices.
Disagree. D was not good tonight and he was not the problem. Totally different defenseman than the beginning of the year. I will take him over Stetcher (who I think has gone ok).Flush Brown down. Never want to see him again.
Is it just me or did he look a little slower than I remembered him? Hopefully just nerves.
To me he hasn't looked as good or tenacious since his debut in Nashville. Is it just me or did he look a little slower than I remembered him? Hopefully just nerves.
I agree, he looked slow. His skating reminds me of Bernie Nicholls. If he could shoot like Nicholls we’d be laughing, but he’s no Nicholls. Is it just me or did he look a little slower than I remembered him? Hopefully just nerves.
No favours and taking nothing for granted when you're chasing a cup. I would have thought that what happened in last years finals would emphasize that for you.Hmm so we are 8 games away from the first requirement. Finals probably not happening though, but who knows, maybe we are up 3-0 in the series and do him a favor.
Agreed. Not sure what posters saying he looked slow or uncomfortable saw. I saw a guy winning board battles and getting the puck going the right way with some solid offensive instincts. Needs to be a bit more mindful of his stick in a tighter league like this, had the penalty in Col and a couple other times where he came close to knicking guys, but that should be easily remedied with more time.Lost in the fireworks from the Vancouver game, I thought Philp looked good.
He showed good awareness, an active stick, and he constantly hoovered up loose pucks around him.
He reminds me a lot of McLeod in that sense. He's not as fast and plays heavier through traffic (he actually came out of scrums/board battles with the puck more often than not), but it's that focus on making safe plays and (more specifically) being sure-handed. Podz is also similar, though he's far more physical.
