About damn time, I see the potential for him to be a real difference maker on the 4th line and while I'm not super thrilled about our 3rd line winger quality, I do think we've got quality experienced 4th line wingers to really support and mentor him.

Will someone pick up that damn telephone?

Because I f**king called it!

*Well mostly, I thought he'd still play against the Eagles this week. From the Condors thread on the 4th.

Posted this in today's GDT, but it also fits here:

My guess: He's called up for the Colorado game on the 16th. It's the one point where the Condors and Oilers overlap, as the Condors will be nearby for their matches on the 14th and 15th.

He sits that night (3 games in 3 nights is a bad idea), but suits up in Vancouver and is settled in with team by the time they get back to Edmonton for their 6 game homestand and a ton of practices.

Finally, FFS. He should be given a good stretch of games here to acclimate, and not just yo-yo'ed between here and BAK. But seeing the continued buffoonery of the front office, well... I hope Philp forces them to keep him up with his work.

Flush Brown down. Never want to see him again.
Disagree. D was not good tonight and he was not the problem. Totally different defenseman than the beginning of the year. I will take him over Stetcher (who I think has gone ok).

Is it just me or did he look a little slower than I remembered him? Hopefully just nerves.

Probably a mix of the team around him getting faster in execution vs. November, while his legs also likely feel a little heavier dealing with the rigours of the regular season after a year off. Though practice, along with fewer minutes (plus NHL calibre training staff and travel) likely deal with those 2 issues.

I think the timing of the call-up aimed to get the nerves out of the way while on the road trip, before the team gets back to Edmonton and has 2+ weeks to focus on practice.

He'll have that 6 game homestand to establish himself as the 4C.

I thought he looked ok, he needs to keep being comfortable, he had a couple good shifts late in the game where he caused some turnovers and kept the puck deep.

It's a long way to go, but an extended look so he can get used to the speed and the system would really help imo.

Hmm so we are 8 games away from the first requirement. Finals probably not happening though, but who knows, maybe we are up 3-0 in the series and do him a favor.
No favours and taking nothing for granted when you're chasing a cup. I would have thought that what happened in last years finals would emphasize that for you.

Edit: I see you have already been taken to task on this, apologies! :D
