Value of: Noah Dobson, based on Sergachev Trade

Don’t really love any of those deals. I feel Dobson with Roy being about to finally coach the way he wants without Lou will return to the offensive numbers from 2 years ago.

He just turned 25 and is a right shot defender with size and excellent skating ability as well as great offensive instincts. Those don’t grow on trees.

Isles are looking at Schaefer (if he pans out) Anchoring the left side and Dobson on the right for 10+ years if Healthy.

What is St Louis offering for the Islanders to move Dobson that doesn’t involve Faulk or Krug?

Krug for cap purposes possibly but Faulk absolutely not with that contract unless the Isles are moving out even (or more) cap in return as part of the deal. Either Mayfield in return if it involves Faulk or Mayfield and Duclair/Engvall.

Kyrou for Dobson straight up was the offer on the isles boards for a while when Kyrou's name was floating around.

In terms of a trade like the sergachev one, Bolduc would likely be a target as he played for Roy with the Remparts. I don't know enough about the Blues to know who another player in the deal would be, so definitely open to suggestions here

Moving Dobson should then be a prelude to other moves if they do go ahead with moving him.

Isles have 2 G, 4 D, and 9 F under contract for 25/26 season. That's 15/23 roster size. $26 mill in cap room, with both Dobson/Romanov needing new contracts. That is more than likely eating up half of that cap space at a minimum.
But, the Isles have veterans that they probably are eying at moving on from to create some cap space.

Not sure I agree with you.

Sergachev is at 8.5, if Dobson signs around 9 we're splitting hairs. Dobson is an RHD which carry more value in this league. As far as trade value goes, they are certainly in the same tier.

If you are looking for to rebuild then the Habs would be super interested.

Habs have an abundance of prospects and picks to trade. Lots of cap room as well.

Demidov and Reinbacher are both off limits. Hage I am reluctant to trade unless a possible 2C comes back in return. Horvat or Barzal would be the targets with him. Picks #16 and #17 in this years draft are available.

A bit, which is why it's a difficult one for me to figure out. I'm not sure how you guys value your players and don't want to get into a whole thing by suggesting something outlandish.

A factor for me here is that so far it's an RD for an LW. I think realistically there would be another good young player and a pick involved - could be a first or second depending on who it is.

It's going to be hard to find a deal for Dobson if your top 4 or 5 assets are off the table. Hutson and and Demidov rightfully so, but you'd think one of Reinbacher, Hage, or Slafkovsky would have to be included in this deal.

I've honestly thought about a Pulock for Krug deal that basically clears him off our cap. Not sure what STL fans would think about that though

Slafkovsky doesn’t interest me personally. He’s got Lafreniere 2.0 written all over him and his cap hit is quite high for what he brings as a 2nd line winger.

That’s a possibility. Get a shorter term contract in order to start opening up spots (and cap) in the long term to truly start shaping the roster. I don’t hate it personally.

You might be able to get Zellweger out of Anaheim for Pulock + small piece. Outside or his 5 year term, he's just the kind of RHD defenseman teams like Buffalo, Anaheim, etc are looking for. No need IMO to dump him for an LTIR guy like Krug when you could get a better return.

Also, Utah won't be trading for Dobson, sorry OP. Was already explained why earlier in the thread.

As a St Louis Blues fan, I would offer Jake Neighbours and 2024 1st pick Adam Jiricek. Neighbours is also a former #1 pick also, good solid player for Dobson. This is assuming that Dobson is signed or agrees to a deal before the trade is done.

I think Islanders are a really good landing spot for Texier, whatever that's worth. Could see a "Dobson to STL" trade including Texier.

really would need a righty back if the young nil guy stepping up is a D, and I don't think Haltunnen is the correct caliber of prospect.

No, going to hold onto Bolduc. I have a feeling the Blues are going to move Kyrou before his no trade kicks in July, and Bolduc has more scoring upside then Neighbors, however Neighbors is more of a complete player, 25 goal scorer who has also been talked about possible A - team leader type of player.
Now we could change the deal for Pavel Buchnevich, more of a proven goal scorer, then a lesser prospect that Jiricek.
