I hope they bring Roark back for the top of the 5th! Charlie be so 'xcited again....

Alrighty well looks like all of us who wanted them to take 50% of Roark's remaining cash and ship him off to Pittsburgh may have had a point.

Everyone pray to their respective gods because Stripling is starting tomorrow and we need him to look good.

One of Thornton, Zeuch, Kay, etc. Or maybe if you want to go super-ballsy you give Manoah a chance to break camp with the team as a short term "force me to keep you up" audition.

I'd go big or go home, giving Manoah a couple starts can't hurt. If not, Zeuch has looked pretty good in his small sample size this spring. I can't imagine he's worse than Roark.

Roark one of the worst signings in the last decade.
let's pump the breaks on that he got like 2/22.

I hope he looks good too, I think Stripling's a good bounce-back candidate. He's been good so far this spring, but it's easy to look good beating up on backups and b-tier prospects. I mean Roark looked good too based on the stats. Then today happened.

Shaner's brake lines were cut years ago

Uhhh Buck/Pat? Might not want to start pimping Domingo German. He wasn't suspended for PEDs or anything. Dude was suspended for domestic violence because reports indicate he got wasted and threatened/assaulted his girlfriend to the extent that she locked herself in a room and called for help because he was coming after her. That's not to say he deserves to be blackballed forever, but now is probably not the best time for glowing reviews of how good he is.

apparently Palacios' elbows are made of wood. How else does an umpire hear him getting hit in the arm and think it's bat?

I wish he'd explain the acronym WAR, it's been a few years and I don't completely understand it.

If we left the explanation up to Tabby you'd probably be more confused by the end, not less.

Well, this is their first broadcast so I’ll cut them some slack, but the radio listeners would have had no idea what was happening for about 90% of the game.

Blue Jays ‘in active conversations’ on extension with GM Ross Atkins - Sportsnet.ca

TORONTO -- Now that president and CEO Mark Shapiro and manager Charlie Montoyo have their contract extensions, GM Ross Atkins is next up for the Toronto Blue Jays.

“Ross and I are in active conversations about keeping him here,” Shapiro said during an interview Sunday. “I obviously feel extremely happy about and proud of the job he's done in building out infrastructure and, most importantly probably, acquiring and developing talent, and leading the baseball organization. I see Ross as part of a long-term future here and want him to be here, and that's shared at the ownership level.”

Shapiro signed a five-year extension that runs through the 2025 season back in January, while Atkins revealed last week that the club option for 2022 on Montoyo’s original three-year contract had been exercised.

The Blue Jays gave Atkins a four-year contract in December 2015 when he was hired over Tony LaCava, the assistant general manager named interim GM after Alex Anthopoulos declined an extension. Atkins then signed a two-year extension in 2019 that runs through this year.

The next contract will put Atkins, 47, in position to become the second most tenured general manager in Blue Jays history, behind Hall of Famer Pat Gillick’s 18-year run. J.P. Ricciardi ran the team eight seasons (2002-09), Gord Ash seven (1995-2001) and Anthopoulos six (2010-2015).

Roark was pretty good in his first 3 outings. Obviously the stinkers are going to be there and we're going to have to live with it. I'd go with Kay as the 5th guy for now if it were up to me, but Roark is going to have to lose that spot in the regular season first.
