So if Samsonov has a big year, they won’t be able to afford him and Murray will be the starter next year, with another bargain basement guy as backup.
Good times!

First off, love the positivity after a good game.

Secondly, if Samsonov wins the Vezina he probably hasn't even earned more than 4 million.

We have some cap flexibility next year with Kerfoot and Holl off the books and the cap going up.

Simmonds and Clifford really help this team grow a few inches. They cannot come out of the lineup. First game all season we score more than 3 goals and it's a lot down to them.

Please don't insult us fans with Malgin again. Also, ZAR and Jarnkrok are useless, so if we can maybe find a couple more forwards who actually show heart and desire that would be great.

It was probably a bit too rough for some tonight, but everyone got through OK and no one got seriously hurt. Even Morgan pretended to fight.

Brodie is consistently our best d-man. He prevents as many goals as the big 4 score them but he will never get the credit he deserves.

Nice to see Rielly stand up for Robertson, very captain like.

John Tavares with 2 nice P.P goals. Kampf with a clutch goal set up by Simmer.

Great steady game from Samsanov. Mete was good.

Nothing from the top 9 tonight, 5 on 5, except the empty net goal. Still hoping for 5 on 5 line changes.

Don't worry about Matthews he had a slow start last year before he went on a heater that lasted for most of last season

He'll get going eventually, but last year he came off surgery and missed a few games to start the year. His slow start is attributed to that.

This year it's quite clear he's banged up already. He should probably sit out a game or two or three if he's dealing with something.

Matthews had a meh day cause I bet him O4.5 shots and he stopped shooting at 4, 30 mins into the game... so ya ill take blame.

If the 4th line can bring this energy and not be a net minus, keep the lines the same.

I don’t see why NAK and ZAR can’t have the same success that Simmer and Cliffy did tonight. Neither of them even fought, just good hard nosed hockey. Kampf is up to the task, just need our two acquisitions to get ‘er going. Hopefully being scratched wakes NAK up.

Wow, do you just stay awake at night finding things to worry about?
First of all, if Samsonov is so good this year that we have to figure out how to fit him in next year then he has had a great year and that is a good thing.

Secondly, if he is good we will fit him in. We will "disappear" the Muzzin contract, maybe the Murray one if we have to.

These guys know how to manage the cap. Enjoy Samsonov
