Confirmed Trade: [NJD/PIT] Cody Glass, Jonathan Gruden for Chase Stillman, Max Graham, 2027 3rd round pick

If Glass keeps it up I think the Devils will look to sign him for a couple years and he may end up playing the Haula role on the Hughes, Bratt line where Glass takes the strong side faceoffs and plays wing.

Glass is definitely making the most of this opportunity.

Will be interesting to see what happens this summer as he could be RFA but would he really fits as a 3C behind Hughes and Hischier? He's not going to get Bratt as a linemate in an healthy team.

That's going to be a battle with his agent regarding this season's result and what is actually going to happen.

The other issue is his QO is 2.5 mil.

If he contiunes to do well then a 1 year prove it deal with the Devils would be a smat move for him and his agent. If he ends up not being qualified then I don't see teams queuing up with multiyear deals so he'd best taking 1 year on a good team like the Devils.

I think if it comes down to it they'd rather sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal at 2 million giving him term instead. I also think if he's not interested in it, they likely just qualify him and keep him around for 1
I'd offer him 3x3 and not think twice. If he's a fourth line center, no biggie. It's not the worst contract ever. If he's a third line center who can give you 35 points a year in those seasons, big win

Glass's biggest issue is he can't stay healthy. Just about the time he starts playing well he gets hurt and is out for a while. That's what his entire existence was in Nashville. They would send him down to get playing time and get his confidence back, would call him up, he would be decent for a game or two and then get hurt. Rinse and repeat. Once he could no longer be sent down he would get limited minutes, play well and start getting used more and then get hurt.

The main consistency with him is that he always ended up injured.
Sounds like some of my employees

So in other words... he's made of glass.

Yeah didn't expect him to get qualified but if he keeps this up, given how hard is to find centers I think they'll do it. Signing it might make sense for Glass too.
