I think the Devils will try to dump VV in the off-season and then have starter 'X' and Allen @ $1.9 million as their net next year. I think this is a band-aid for this season and a backup for next. The Devils got scared off the TDL market and will look to make something happen in the summer.

This combined with the TT trade clearly indicate there are no plans to make a huge push this off-season.
